We’ve put the stroller through the paces the last few weeks and we have a lot to say about this little stroller.The Mamas & Papas Sola 2 is a lightweight stroller that is in it for the long haul. It accommodates a newborn up to 50 lbs with its roomy seat and sturdy frame. The seat is 13 1/2″ wide with an 19″ seat back and a measurement of 25″ from back of seat to top of canopy. There is an adjustable, padded, 5-point harness to keep your little one safely in the seat and the adjustable footrest with 5 different positions keeps them comfy. We love that the seat is a lie-flat recline which means the seat is okay for a newborn. It’s easy to recline the seat with one hand by squeezing the two pieces on the back of the seat.Since some babies like to face forward and look out at the world and some prefer to parent-face, we love that the seat is reversible.Since babies travel with lots of stuff, the big basket under the seat will come in handy.
It is easy to access and we can easily get our Ju-Ju-Be Be Classy in the basket with no problem.The Sola has a two-panel canopy with a peek-a-boo window with magnetic closure. The canopy is large but could always be larger with the addition of a pop-out sun visor. Hopefully, the Sola 3 will add a pop-out sun visor and a second peek-a-boo window (or just move the current window back).The faux leather handle is gorgeous and a nice touch to keep this stroller classy. It is also adjustable from 36″ to 42″ from ground to handle to provide a comfortable push for both shorter and taller parents.The stroller sports hard rubber wheels with two 7″ swivel wheels in the front and two 9 1/2″ wheels in the back. The front wheels have the ability to lock straight to tackle a “mommy terrain” which could be playground mulch, grass or gravel. The rear wheels also have a one-step parking brake that is flip-flop friendly.The two handed fold is easy to do on the Sola 2 and folds it down into a rather compact package.
The stroller is easy to travel with or put in and out of your trunk since it only weighs 22 lbs. It has a standing fold and an automatic lock which are two important features I look for in a stroller fold.If you are a looking for a travel system or a pram, you’ll be happy to know that the Sola 2 can become both with an added infant car seat or a Mamas & Papas bassinet (sold separately – unless you get the stroller and bassinet bundle!).All of these luxury features come with the luxury price of $429 for the stroller or $499 for the stroller and bassinet combo.
