In the 1930’s Elva Everton moved to Twin Falls to start her own factory. She married and had 3 daughters all of which lived and worked at the factory. During the 30’s, 40’s and 50’s there were Everton Mattress Factories in Logan and Brigham City, Utah, and Idaho Falls, Twin Falls, Nampa and Rigby Idaho. When Elva died in the 40’s her brother Mel moved to Twin Falls to run the business. Because of his failing health he had to sell out to his brother Rulon who ran a successful business for many years. Rulon and Connie Everton had 3 children, Jackie, J.D. “Don” and Larry. After Don got out of the service he agreed to work at the factory for 1 year to see if it was something he wanted to do.
This trial period lasted for over 50 years! In 1960 Larry joined his father and brother and the three of them built a thriving business. In the early 1990’s Don’s son Steve became the 4th generation to join the family business. Everton Mattress joined “Restonic” in 1970. Restonic was a national brand found primarily in the East. Everton Mattress was the first Restonic Factory in the Northwest and is today the oldest member. Together they have developed an outstanding product that for 7 years has won the “Best Buy” award from Consumers Digest. In 2003 the factory moved from Twin Falls to Filer going from 30,000 square feet of manufacturing and storage space to 135,000 square feet. The retail store moved to Poleline road where it remains today. We are proud of our reputation and our commitment to the community.
