The City of Charlottesville offers disposal service of large furniture, appliances, tree limbs and other large or bulky items that cannot fit in a trash container. Unlimited large item pickup is available to residential customers receiving trash pickup. The fees for service are based on a rolling calendar (365 days measured backward from the date of purchase).The fee scale for the service within the rolling year is as follows:First collection: $35Second collection: $50All subsequent collections: $100To arrange for large item disposal in person:1. Pay the fee at the Treasurer's Office.2. Then, call (434) 970-3830 to arrange a pickup date.To arrange for large item disposal by mail:1. Mail your completed application (Application for Large Item Pickup) and applicable fee to the Treasurer's Office at the address on the form.2. To arrange for large item disposal online:1.
