Each year, volunteers collect gently-used items during student move-out and make them available for sale during student move-in on Virginia Tech’s campus. Since its inception in 2015 and in the past, together with our partners and sponsors Ytoss has: Ytoss Collection 2017 will be held on Virginia Tech’s campus Friday, May 5th – Thursday, May 11th The 2017 Ytoss Sale will be held in Virginia Tech’s Cassell Coliseum August 24th & 25th – the Thursday and Friday of campus move-in. with questions or to get involved! Be sure to make note of modified traffic patterns and unusual parking restrictions during move-out and move-in! Ytoss accepts clean, gently used furniture, electronics, and clothing, including microwaves, hutches, mini-fridges, small appliances, etc. Torn or soiled textiles and broken electronics will be recycled. We also collect laundry detergent, and cleaning supplies for local food banks. Examples of items we cannot accept are ripped or soiled are mattresses, rugs and upholstered furniture. Also, we cannot accept broken plastic furniture and appliances unless they are made out of recyclable (#1-7) plastics. For detailed donation guidelines, visit our recycling page.
