In my opinion, it's more comfortable than the regular (and very expensive) mattress. I bought the Mainstay's Elevated Airbed with 120v Pump for about $80 (King Size). I'm constantly moving and got tired of moving big and heavy stuff...so I gave the air bed a try.... one of the best buys I've made. The other best purchase is a $20 French (Coffee) Press. 444 posts, read 810,593 times 8,794 posts, read 10,451,878 timesGood selection and $2.95 shipping. Their inventory changes daily. I just gave a quick look and they have nearly 1,000 choices today, including simple frames, platforms, and even Asian tatami mats.

Re: box springs, be mindful that they are not included unless the listing says "mattress set." That's true of any seller. Acatalanb's idea of an air mattress is not a bad one. You can get better support from one than from a cheap traditional mattress which will cost you upwards of $600 in queen unless you want to sag. I used to sell mattresses when I worked at a well-known Tucson furniture store. We carried the famous-name version of that adjustable bed you see advertised on TV every day and it was just two air chambers inside a traditional mattress package. Most beds you see in model homes are an air mattress set up on a traditional bed. Mattresses are so heavy, it's really not cost-effective to ship yours unless you really love it. Good luck with your move. There must be known places in the city that sell really cheap beds (quality and price), no? I mean I can look in the phone book, but I thought you all might have some recommendations. And no, i'm definitely not interested in an air mattress LOL.

Inexpensive is one thing but "cheap" could become a nightmare . . . in more ways than one. 4,438 posts, read 5,544,702 times 435 posts, read 961,176 times Originally Posted by Bummer Yes I do understand this, and while I am a huge proponent of investing in high quality bed, at the same time I will only be in Tucson for a short time and don't want to spend a couple of thousand dollars on something that I will be throwing out in a year or two. I think I can live with a $400 mattress for a couple of years. That said, I don't want an air mattress. Please register to post and access all features of our very popular forum.
