I found the bedding a little under par, and the pillows far too soft. The room facilities were nice, and it was quiet at night. Overall they nearly got there, but I wouldn't go back. Your choice of a Japanese or traditional breakfast is available and either is excellent! We previously stayed at other B&Bs in the area and Kaede far exceeds the others. For the past five... The owners are just the nicest people and the rooms are comfortable and certainly a bargain. If stairs are a problem, ask about a ground floor room. Breakfasts varied and delicious. Centrally located surrounded by extensive historic Ipswich homes (so you can go for morning walks to prepare for that big breakfast!). Close to beaches, forests... We spent the last night of our trip to Maine in late October at this beautiful old house just a few steps from the small town of Ipswich. We booked Ume (plum) room and it was very comfortable indeed.
