You will be so close to London that you could easily make a weekend/city break of it, stay in London (loads of budget accommodation) and do Legoland a s a day trip. Travel information from the Legoland website:

Just half an hour from London Paddington to Windsor & Eton Central, via Slough on the First Great Western. Or direct from London Waterloo to Windsor & Eton Riverside on South West Trains. Approximate journey time from London Waterloo is less than 1 hour. There is a shuttle bus service to the park from stops close to both rail stations; please note that this is a chargeable service and is not operated by the park. Alternatively you may call Windsor Radio Cars on 01753 677677 for a taxi. Money saving packages to LEGOLAND Windsor are available which include LEGOLAND admission, rail travel and shuttle bus. These inclusive tickets are available from most major stations in mainland Britain or through Rail Telesales and accredited travel agents. For train times and fares, call 08457 48 49 50. Green Line operates the frequent 702 service 7-days a week from Victoria. Call the Green Line Travel Line on 0844 801 7261 or visit www.greenline.co.uk. Inclusive ticket and travel packages available, please ask when calling.

For times of the 702, please visit www.greenline.co.uk/legoland-town-guide/ From London, Golden Tours operates a daily service to the park, with a courtesy collection from over 50 London hotels. One attraction mentioned in this post Ranked of 650 Tours in London Some of the hotels to the west of Heathrow (easily the closest airport) offer Legoland packages but these are aimed at those with cars which means you'll be taking taxis a lot of the time. Better to stay in London (thus opening up all airports allowing you to book the cheapest fare) and travel out to Legoland as per the information given above. Travelodge and the far better Premier Inn chains have locations across the capital. The later also offers some decent family rooms that include breakfast for the kids. Please do check the Legoland website--the park is not open every day in March. Flying in, the simplest thing to do would be to fly into Heathrow and taxi to Windsor. The Legoland Resort Hotel is on site, but quite pricey.

Your other options are 1) stay in Central Windsor, convenient to restaurants, shops, and the Castle, and take the Legoland Shuttle in to the park, or 2) Stay closer to Legoland and outside of the center. These hotels are fairly inexpensive, have family rooms, and often offer Legoland discount passes. Its a 20-25 GBP taxi Heathrow to Legoland using a Windsor based cab company If you are looking for budget accommodation then the Travelodge Windsor is in Windsor Central Station. The Legoland shuttle picks up from outside the station. The 71 First Group local bus shuttles between Terminal 5 and Windsor Central Station about every 30 minutes -:- Message from TripAdvisor staff -:-This topic has been closed to new posts due to inactivity. This is an early evening get-together in central London for Adult Fans Of Lego, or AFOLs for short, based in or near London.

It is suitable for anyone over the age of 18 who likes to build with Lego, no matter what their skill-level is. Whether you live in London or are visiting from elsewhere, you are welcome to come along and have fun with Lego. Usually we meet in a pub function room (with a private bar), buy a drink, tip out huge amounts of Lego bricks and get building. Some meetups are more structured than others with games, set-building and competitions; other times it's a free-build.  You might also find people swapping the latest collectible minifigures. We get together on the second Monday of each month, usually in the Euston area. Occasionally, we hold our meetups up at other locations. These have included outside on the grass of Gordon Square (in the summer), Lego's London office, the Brick exhibition in Excel, a cinema and Legoland Windsor. The group has its own stock of LEGO bricks, so no need to bring your own. People - We attract all sorts of people from a wide range of backgrounds.

We are about 60:40 male:female.  Attendance is usually 30-40 people. Age range - we have members in their late teens, 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, and 60s, with 30s being the median group - just.  If you are aged 16-18, you can come as long as you are accompanied by an over-18 year old. This is because we meet in central London in the evening, and we want to be sure you get home safely at night. Photos - members take pics and upload on to the Meetup site, or occasionally the London AFOLs Facebook page.  You need to be comfortable with a picture of you appearing online playing with Lego. Donations - we don't charge a fee, but we do pass round a donation tin at our meetups. Please contribute at leat £2 per Meetup. We are an independent group organised by Lego fans for Lego fans.  We are a Recognised Lego User Group (RLUG), meaning we are supported by The LEGO Group in Denmark and have a good relationship with them. However, we are neither controlled by the company nor sponsored by them.
