Like everything in Las Vegas, hotel rooms really need to dazzle in order to stand out. To make our list of the best rooms in town, it wasn't enough for a hotel's beds to be comfortable -- they had to be outright heavenly. A few square feet of marble and a little gold finish on the fixtures wasn't going to convince us of anything; we looked for spaces in which every detail had been carefully considered -- and no expense was spared. And, in case you were wondering: Yes, size mattered, too. We will be ending our 10 day southwest trip with a night in Vegas before flying home. Total Vegas time < 24 hours. We are not gamblers but I thought it would be nice to stay on the strip in contrast with our stays at the lodges in Zion & Bryce the previous nights. We are traveling with our 11 & 14 year old daughters and plan on seeing LOVE at the Mirage. From what I've read THEhotel, MGM Sig & Mirage seem to be more family friendly, however, it sounds like when you make reservations you are not guaranteed 2 queen size beds even when stating 2 adults 2 kids and that bed requests are on a first come basis.

Our stay is for a Saturday night in June. I always ask for and get two queen size beds at THEhotel and have never been disappointed. THEhotel would be perfect for your family since the suites also have two bathrooms and if since you are going in June your children will really enjoy the pools there. Just take a cab to the Mirage to see Love. I would stay at either Mirage itself, or directly across the street at Venetian/Palazzo, whichever suits your budget. Both have nice pools and the convenience for your show can't be beat. The traffic on a Saturday night getting taxis or even just standing in the taxi lines will be terrible. But it sounds like you might still have the car, if so helpful hint: don't valet, but do self park at the Mirage for the show...valet lines (like taxi lines) are very long right after shows get out...if you self park you can get in your car and go. If you say on your reservation that you have 4 people (2 kids) there is no way in the world you are going to end up with one king bed, I'm not sure what reservation form implies that.

The V/P has really nice, big rooms with a separate living area that has a sofabed so if by some chance you got stuck with a king there it would still work (but it shouldn't be a problem if you book the Bella Suite, which has 2 queens). Edited: 11:13 am, March 12, 2011 Southpoint great for families and 2 Queen beds south of the strip. "If you say on your reservation that you have 4 people (2 kids) there is no way in the world you are going to end up with one king bed, I'm not sure what reservation form implies that." WW: You know this isn't so. Number of beds is only a request and unless you reserve a room that only has 2 beds (like the Bella Suites) it is literally first come first served. And this does happen to people all the time. And if it's a busy Saturday the odds of them not honoring your "type of room request" is even greater. I also would not recommend a room as small as Mirage, especially with it's really small bathroom, for 4 people. THEhotel would be a much better and safer choice.

Not only do you gain the extra 1/2 bath, but you have the couch in the living room. Bed Guarantees is one of the newest revenue generators for Las Vegas hotels. I've seen a couple that would guarantee me two queen beds or a king bed for an extra 30 dollars or so for the reservation. I can't remember the specific hotels though. Funny how they can't guarantee anything until Mr. Dollar shows his head. We just got back from the Mirage. We wanted a king bed & ended up with 2 queens. The lady at the desk told us that the room with 2 queens are more available then a room with a king. Now when we stayed at the Palazzo, they charged us more money for 2 queens instead of a king.So anyway, you will have no problem with 2 queens at the Mirage. Since you only have 24 hours in Vegas & are seeing Love at the Mirage it is a no brainer. It's not on your list, but should be. The Petite Suite at TI has a king and a sofa bed. They also have two full bathrooms. It's connected to Mirage by a tram as well.

ktinca, I respectfully disagree. If you specify, and pay for, 4 people, there is NO WAY you are going to get a room with just one bed, sorry! I've heard that if you Priceline rooms you are not guaranteed any more than one bed, but if you deal directly with the hotel, and pay for 4 people, you will get an accommodation that can handle 4 people. Now if you just say you are 2, then try to sneak in the other 2, that's a different story. The MGM it self has a Bungalow Suite with 2 queen sized beds. I never saw that option with the MGM Sig. The option I booked was the 1 bedroom suite w/the queen sleeper sofa. RR - While not on your list, I just booked the Flamingo for some friends, and know the 2-bed rooms have 2 queen beds. You would absolutely want a GO Room, and maybe add on the Strip view. Flamingo does have a great pool area, and is a nice old Vegas hotel in a great location.
