These beautiful artisan fabrics have been woven by craftsmen using pre-war looms with first quality pure cotton thread which is made from two threads rolled together to produce one final thread. This thread is used in the weft as well as the warp which gives the fabric its superb tactile quality. This durable acrylic fabric is ideal for the tough demands of contract applications. Specially designed for outdoor use this is a premium grade acrylic with excellent colour retention. In use this breathable fabric has a lovely soft-cotton feel to it. Textilene® is made of PVC coated woven polyester non-stretch yarn. It is flame retardant, heat sealable, mildew resistant and stable under either hot or cold temperatures. Textilene® is a superb contract fabric in terms of durability, specially formulated from yarns developed to withstand wear and tear for many years of outdoor use.

We recommend tacking canvas on to your existing deckchair using upholstery nails - just use your existing canvas as a pattern for your new replacement - 1.5 metres is more than adequate for a traditional folding wooden deckchair -
See our Step by Step Video on How to Recover a Deckchair Fabric widths may vary slightly and any occasional tiny discrepancies in the weave are due to the nature of the fabric - we do not sell seconds. Please bear in mind that our Deckchair canvas fabric is 100% cotton with no synthetics, which means that they are not strictly outdoor fabrics. Modern dyes are used today which lack the toxic colour fasteners used in the past so they will fade quicker if left out in strong sunlight and adverse weather conditions. In the heyday of the deckchair (1900 - 1950's) with no synthetic fabrics available, covers were replaced annually. We opted for cotton deckchair covers because they are more comfortable and easier to replace.In staying true to the original concept, we think that to protect your deckchairs in inclement weather is a small price to pay for a beautiful product Pinks and reds are more vulnerable so avoid these if you wish your colours to remain brighter - please see our Deckchair Canvas FAQ's
