RJ-8165A Cylinder Review by Jim Vetor I just bought this chair and so far the quality seems to be good. While assembling I found installing the hydraulic cylinder to be badly engineered. The cylinder has a retainer clip and washer on a small post that should go through a small hole in the base and the washer and clip applied. This base has a large hole where the cylinder drops in and protrudes more then I have seen any other chair including the chair I am replacing. I'm afraid in time my weight will continue to push the cylinder lower until it meets the floor. Has anyone else seen this flaw? Other then that I like the chair. If anyone has a company phone number for the manufacture I'd like to get it. Don't Buy Review by Tom I bought this chair less than a year ago and now the hydraulic cylinder fails and doesn't stay up. The chair may look great but fails within a year. So far seems good quality, will see a year from now, how they hold up. Review by Monte Martin I bought one of these chairs, and it seemed comfortable and well put together, so I got to thinking, my bar stool chairs need replacing so I ordered 4 more chairs from you and converted my existing bar stool bottoms to be able to fit these chairs, it required cutting off the center pipe of the old bottoms chairs and welding a 2" x 6" schedule 80 pipe so that the shock from your chairs would fit the inside of the pipe, and it worked great, then I repainted the armrest silver to Black so it didn't look so officey. I decided to use google to see if I could find the same chair for a cheaper price.
That is when I came across this chair for about 50% of the cost. So, I ordered the chair (after weeks of shopping online to find exactly what I wanted) and the chair was delivered in about half of the estimated time! The box was damaged a little, so not sure if it came from the warehouse like that or if it happened during transition. But, there was little to no damage to the chair (slight scuffing), so no harm no foul. It is better than I expected in quality for the price point... and most importantly it is very comfortable. The material feels great and the stitching looks nice. The chair is a solid/heavy chair that gives it a higher end feel. I will have to see how it lasts over the years.
