The Minnesota State Fair is committed to providing equal access and a pleasant experience for all its guests. Services provided include electric mobility scooters, strollers, wagon and wheelchair rentals, accessible parking, a wheelchair accessible park & ride, a passenger drop-off area, assistive listening devices, sign language interpreters, accessible seating at all entertainment venues, curb cuts throughout the fairgrounds and Care & Assistance (H25 on the State Fair map), which provides a number of accessibility services.
All of these services are described in our 2017 Accessibility Guide (when available, view it under "Quick Links"). Electric Mobility Scooters, Strollers, Wagons and Wheelchairs HomeTown Mobility, an independent vendor, provides electric mobility scooters, strollers, wagons and wheelchairs for rent at five locations on the fairgrounds. Battery recharging is not available at HomeTown Mobility locations. If rented onsite, all equipment is available on a first-come basis with no guarantee of availability. Hours are 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily. Cash, credit cards and debit cards are acceptable forms of payment. NOTE: Guests arriving via group charter buses will enter the fairgrounds through Randall Avenue (Gate #18). Electric mobility scooters: $55 per day or $35 for half-day rentals (The hours for half-day rentals are 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. or 3-11 p.m.) Wheelchairs: $20 per day Wagons: $15 per day Single strollers: $12 per day Double strollers: $15 per day

Where to rent on the fairgrounds: (Use coordinates provided to find the locations on a State Fair map) North side of Como Avenue inside the Loop Gate (Gate #9), O32 West side of Cosgrove Street between Wright and Dan Patch avenues, V23 On the northwest corner of Cooper Street and the Service Road (Gate #2), T8 West End (Gate #16), J23 On the southwest corner of Randall Avenue and Underwood Street (Gate #18), R16 Reserving a Scooter or Wheelchair HomeTown Mobility is now accepting reservations for wheelchairs and electric mobility scooters. Reservations will only be accepted for full-day rentals. Reserve online or call HomeTown Mobility's home office at (877) 928-5388 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and on weekends during the fair. NOTE: Reservations made by phone are subject to a $5 call-in fee. Reservations must be made 24 hours in advance. Cancellation must be made 48 hours in advance to receive a full refund, less a $5 cancellation fee per rental unit.
Electrical Outlets for Recharging If you need a regular electrical outlet plug-in for charging an electric mobility scooter battery, there are two options on the fairgrounds: Care & Assistance south of West End Market, H25 on the State Fair map, is open 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily. Also, on the south side of the Grandstand outside between the entrance doors, outlets are designated with disability signs, N25 on the State Fair map. Parking spaces designated for vehicles with a valid disabled persons parking identification placard are located in many State Fair lots on a first-come basis. Cost is $14 (cash only; a pre-fair discount admission ticket cannot be used to pay the cost of parking). See a State Fair map for locations. Learn more about how to access parking lots. The State Fair provides a free Park & Ride lot with free wheelchair-accessible bus service exclusively for people with disabilities and their companions. The lot is located on the north side of the Oscar Johnson Arena, 1039 De Courcy Circle, south of the fairgrounds.
Exit from Snelling Avenue at Energy Park Drive; travel east on Energy Park Drive and turn left just after the Merrill Corp. Building to De Courcy Circle and proceed to the north side of Oscar Johnson Arena to park. Passengers travel non-stop to the fairgrounds and are dropped off at the Como Avenue Loop Gate #9. Buses run continuously from 8 a.m. to midnight daily. Learn more about Park & Ride lots. The interpreter schedule will be released in the coming months. Interpreters are scheduled between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. Special requests for interpreter services will be scheduled depending on availability and should be directed to (651) 288-4448 or the Admin Too Building on Cosgrove Street.
