When you walk into the historic building you will be in awe by the detailed architecture and high ceilings. This stunning space can accommodate a cocktail reception, seated dinner or dancing. Transform the public place into the private party of any occasion. The Main Lobby may be rented on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evenings for a five-hour time slot, exclusive of set-up and clean up times.
Reception: 250 Theater-style: 200 Seated: 160 Seated with dance floor: 130 The Skyline Room is a stunning newly renovated space. The room on the 4th floor is a modern addition to the charming historic building with an adjacent outdoor terrace. It can hold cocktail receptions for 150 people, theater-style seating for 240, and seated dinners for 185 (140 with the addition of a dance space). The outside terrace offers a unique point of view in the city overlooking Shakespeare Park and beyond it, Logan Circle, and the city skyline. Events can be al fresco or tented. The lower deck accommodates 200 for a cocktail reception or 185 for a seated dinner (160 with the addition of a dance floor). The upper deck provides additional space for cocktail receptions. Rental includes Skyline Room. The terrace may not be rented separately. Another new addition to the Free Library on the Parkway is a state-of-the-art demonstration kitchen. It seats 35 and has a video screen for additional viewing.
Consider holding an interactive workshop or team building activity in the Kitchen. Located on the ground floor of the library is the auditorium with raked seating for 378 guests and may be rented for three-hour events, exclusive of set-up and take-down times. The 2nd floor u-shaped landing is used for cocktail receptions in conjunction with the rental of the Main Lobby. The landing can host up to 130 guests on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evenings. Located on the first floor just past the HOME Page Cafe is a room that can accommodate 75 for a cocktail reception, 80 for theater-style seating, and 60 for banquet seating.
