The packing process is an art, so you’ll need to put some thought into it before you begin. We have shared some of our most helpful packing tips for your reference: Box everything that you can. Anything left unboxed in a self-storage facility will get dusty and very dirty. Clearly label all boxes so you can identify the contents and keep an inventory. It’s wise not to fill large boxes with heavy items, such as books. They’ll quickly become impossible to carry and may break. Avoid packing items in sealed plastic bags, as humidity can cause mildew. Store books flat to avoid damaging their spines. Mirrors and pictures need extra protection in a self-storage facility.
Stack them on their ends and securely wrap in bubble paper. Pictures and mirrors should never be stored flat. Before storage, separate lamp bases and shades, then securely wrap them for protection. A good space saving technique is stacking chairs seat to seat. A small dust cover above them will keep them nice and clean. For added protection of your wood furniture, spray with a good quality furniture oil before storing it in the facility. Important note: Expect to be asked to drain the tanks if you’re storing items with fuel tanks, such as lawn mowers and cars. Taryn Blake of Taryn Blake Events says the key to using this glamorous color palette is to incorporate it throughout the décor, from ceremony to reception. Along with photographer Jennifer Rotz and a team of other Susquehanna Valley vendors, Blake assembled this inspirational photo shoot to show you how these colors can be done well. Read along to find her top tips and ideas. 1. Textural table runners are all the rage. A bronze sequined version is perfect for an affair of this color scheme. 2. Gold Chiavari chairs are a must for your reception, but why not use them during your ceremony too? Available locally at Event Central PA, this sophisticated seating is a great option for your celebration. 3. Forget traditional bride-and-groom or monogrammed cake toppers, says Blake.
Sculptural, edible flowers, like the ones on this sweet pink-and-gold treat by The Perfect Cake, are a more modern way to go. 4. Rock candy in your champagne glasses? Now that’s a sweet idea. Top off with some bubbly for a sweet surprise. 6. Don’t be afraid to go tall for your table arrangements. As far as events are concerned, rectangular tables are the new round. But how can you keep the end seat from feeling isolated? Ask your florist to add greenery that has been painted gold to a floral arrangement in shades of soft pinks and creams for a creative, yet affordable, solution. 12. Try an unexpected seating favor: a fluffy ball of sweet pink cotton candy boxed and wrapped with an adorable gold ribbon bow. 13. With all of the great gilded elements going on, why spoil the look with silverware? If you weren’t already aware, know that gold flatware is an option.
