All prices are in NZD and inclusive of GST. We accept payment via cash, eftpos, Visa or Mastercard. And we don't charge those extra annoying credit card surcharges! All hires are inclusive of a helmet, map and a lock, plus lots of advice about the trails from our friendly crew. And when you hire your bike from us for a day, that means a real, genuine, proper full day. Yes that's right, the whole 24 hours! However if you are having a bike for a sleepover, you do of course need to be able to keep it tucked up securely inside overnight. We recognise that time is precious when you are on holiday and you want to make the most of every minute, so we don't want you to have to map your schedule around us and our hours. If you don't wish to take a bike overnight but want to enjoy our long summer day light hours, just let our staff know and they will arrange for you to return the bike to our after hours secure storage area. And as mentioned above, a full day when you hire from us means you get to keep the bike for up to 24 hours (you must be able to store the bike securely overnight), not just 7 or 8 hours.
Our long summer evenings and beautiful mornings are great for enjoying on a bike, or simply take the time to linger longer at the wineries, safe in the knowledge you won't have to hurry back. These beautiful green machines are made for a comfortable cruisy ride and are also ideal for those who haven't ridden a bike for a while as they have just 3 easy to manage gears - head wind, tail wind and no wind! They have big comfy seats and wide tyres and some have an optional bag to carry things if you wish. Maximum rider height for a green bike is about 180cm due to seat post limitations. A beautiful green bike will cost you $15 for one hour, $20 for two hours, $25 for a half day or around 4 hours and just $35 for a full day. The Avanti Discovery has been designed for use on limestone pathways. It offers 24 gears where the Metro has 3, and some suspension for added comfort on those long rides. Its nice slightly sturdy wide tyres make light work of the limestone pathways or wherever else you may wish to go.
A handsome black bike will cost you $15 for one hour, $20 for two hours, $30 for a half day or around 4 hours and just $40 for a full day. We have Avanti Montari hardtail mountain bikes available in Extra Small, Small, Medium and Large frame sizes. Eskdale Mountain Bike Park is located approximately 10km south of Napier city centre. The park is privately owned and a permit is required for access. These permits cost $10 and can be purchased from us when you rent your bike. A mighty mountain bike costs $45 for a half day or $70 for a full day. Terrence is a stylish Schwinn Tango Tandem and is awesome for cruising up and down the waterfront pathway. We also have available Trevor and Tino, fantastic pathway Tandems by Avanti. Terrence is a bicycle built for two which means that his hire rate is about the same as two single bikes. One hour is $35, 4 hours is $60 and a full day is just $80. We recently welcomed a new addition to the tandem team, Trevor.
Trevor is a black Avanti Tandem and is quite a different style from Terrence, having been built with off road riding in mind. Erica is the newest addition to our fleet, and is eagerly awaiting the arrival of her companion Ernie. Erica is a stylish silver Avanti Discovery with electronic assist. Brand new, she is the latest in electronic assist bikes available with an economy range up to 80km. You still have to pedal but you can dial Erica up to give just a little or a whole lot of assistance. Perfect for those not feeling confident of keeping up with their friends or just wishing to ride a little further than they might otherwise. A date with Erica for 4 hours is $45 and a full day* is $75. * A full day for Erica is 9-5 - she has to come home each night! We have Avanti Bikes especially for children, in three different sizes. The smallest 16 inch ones are available with trainer wheels if required. We love seeing kids on bikes! One hour is $10, 4 hours is $20 and a full day is just $25.
Also available is a Thule childs seat that can be fitted on the back of a high bar Discovery bike and a Wehoo iGo Pro bicycle trailer. We have Avanti Giros avalible for hire, for those that like to wear a bit of lycra or like to go fast. We don't recommend them for cycling on our limestone pathways but they are great for exploring some of the Hawke's Bay awesome road cycling routes. We can advise you on some for our favourites road riding options from 50km - 100km so there are no excuses for not being able to stick to your training schedule. From $75 for a full day or $45 for a half day - multi day hires quoted on request. The Giro bikes are hired with flat pedals fitted but you are welcome to bring your own pedals and we will fit them for you.
