Color Editable Modern Minimalist Wedding Suite What should you look for in a rental company? Let’s face it–a chair is a chair, so all that matters is how it’s delivered and how you are treated. Make sure that any business is prompt in calling you back, courteous in dealing with you, and flexible. The last thing you want is to find yourself at the altar with a mic that doesn’t work. For mics and sound equipment try Dakota Entertainment: For tents and chairs try Ideal Weddings and Events at: Ideal Weddings and Events has everything you need at a competitive price. As they specialize in weddings they have an appreciation for perfection. These are not the only rental companies in town, but be wary of any rental company. As I said, usually the only thing that separates them is service so read reviews online and ask around to make sure you are dealing with the best possible company. Questions to ask any rental company before a wedding: What additional charges are there for set-up and take down?

How often are your tables, chairs, or tents cleaned? How soon before the event can I reduce my numbers? Who do I contact if there is a problem the day of the event? How often is your sound equipment checked? What is the range on the wireless microphone? How new is the equipment? How long have you been in business? Are there any previous customers I could talk to? Does all of your equipment come from you or do you rent it from someone else? When will the equipment arrive? When will the equipment be taken back? What is my liability if there is a problem with equipment or if someone is injured while using (i.e. a chair collapses and someone is hurt)? Any rental company should be able to answer these questions without hesitation of investigation. As soon as the person says, “I’ll have to get back to you,” be wary. Ask to be trained on any electronic equipment they rent to you. Every speaker, mic, and PA system has its limitations and its quirks.
