If bad weather threatens to cancel your outdoor ceremony, the venue can quickly shift your ceremony inside the main banquet hall so as not to ruin your day.
The venue's main banquet hall serves as a stylish, spacious setting for any style of reception and holds up to 200 guests. This elegant event space is adorned with a stone fireplace and high ceilings, adding an air of sophistication to your reception, while its massive windows provide fantastic views overlooking the golf course and surrounding woods. For those that desire live entertainment, this space can also be equipped with a dance floor and DJ or live band. The maximum capacity is limited to 180 guests with a dance floor and DJ or 150 guests with a live band. What You Should Know The Woodlands at Algonkian offers a degree of professionalism, service and exclusivity not found at most other venues. As the venue only holds one event per day, rental of the property includes eight hours' exclusive use of the main banquet hall, the caterer's/buffet room and the pergola ceremony site. Banquet and catering tables are also provided, as are gold chiavari chairs for the reception space and white folding chairs for the ceremony site.
A dance floor is also provided in the main banquet hall to help keep the party going.All food and beverage catering is handled by Great Blue Heron Catering, which offers couples a choice of a variety of menu options, suitable for anything from a more casual, picnic-style affair to a formal, black tie event. After booking your event, the caterer will sit down with you to help design a menu that fits your vision, taste and budget.Depending on availability and the time of the year, couples may also receive a complementary ceremony rehearsal at the pergola site before their event. All weddings must finish by midnight. Setup and cleaning for both the reception and ceremony are included in the rental price.There's also the option to reserve the park's lovely cottages for a weekend wedding event. There are several different cottages to choose from, ranging in size from two bedrooms to five-bedroom places that can sleep up to 10 people. All the cottages feature private bedrooms, full kitchens and spacious decks overlooking the Potomac.
There are also four deluxe models that have additional features like luxurious hot tubs. We held our reception at Algonkian, and we are so happy with how everything turned out. Lawan, the event coordinator there, is amazing and was always there to help us with anything we needed. She met with us multiple times, and responded very quickly to all of the email we would... I visited here while scoping out wedding venues. I liked the outdoor ceremony area, as well as the main dining area. High ceilings, a projector, and stone facade. However, the only place to "get ready" seemed to be a kids activity room, nothing special. The Woodlands at Algonkian gave me the wedding of my dreams! We had both our ceremony and our reception at The Woodlands on July 23rd with about 200 guests. We held the most beautiful ceremony outside, after which our guests could enjoy cocktails and passed appetizers indoors.... We had our wedding at the Woodlands on the 9th of July with just less than 60 guests. Anna is not working anymore at the Algonkian, the new person is Ashley and she is great very professional and helpful.
