It was reported by Temp.co that the stewardess identified as Vera, had acted such upon landing at Soekarno-Hatta airport at 11:45 am, after a flight from Kuala Lumpur, last Saturday (January 7). Garuda Indonesia VP Corporate Communication Benny Siga Butarbutar conveyed that Vera saw the elderly woman still seated on seat 41C, as all other passengers had disembarked the flight. “Without thinking twice, Vera approached the woman,” Benny said, adding that it turned out the woman was going to perform umrah (minor pligrimage) and taking a connecting flight, but was waiting for her wheelchair to arrive.
Seeing as the wheelchair took some time, Vera took matters into her own hands by assisting the woman off the plane, along with Flight Service Manager (FSM) Ninik Septinawati. “Vera then took the liberty of carrying the woman on the back through the exit door at the back of the plane. “What Vera did is a proof and reflection of our professionalism,” Benny explained, hoping that all crew members would keep on improving the standards of the airline.
