Thousands of people have signed a petition calling on the council to make a beach inclusive for everyone.A trial of the beach-accessible mats and wheelchairs was held at Burleigh Heads today for locals to test.Muzaffar Deen, 15, has muscular dystrophy and his wheelchair means he often cannot play on the beach with his sisters.His mother Ferzina Deen said the equipment was amazing and created a special day for Muzaffar."He had such good fun, the smile on his face just gives me tears," she said."It's so hard for us as a family to get out to the beach ... he can feel the waves, the smile on his face, this is so, so fun for him."Emma Sheehy, who uses a wheelchair, loves going to the beach but struggles to get out to the water.Ms Sheehy said it was important to provide access for all people who found it hard to get to the water.The chance to try a beach-accessible wheelchair, which features oversized tyres with extra grip, gave her the opportunity she has been wanting."It was fantastic, I loved it," she said."

The Arts Centre Gold Coast Paid Parking introduced on October 1, 2014 Patrons are advised that paid parking has been introduced to the Evandale Precinct. The Arts Centre Gold Coast is committed to providing access to the performing arts for visitors with special needs. If you require any mobility assistance, please call the Box Office on 5588 4000 to book your tickets, and notify the staff at this time. We will then arrange for Front of House staff to assist you when you arrive at the theatre. Parking and Drop Off Parking for people with mobility difficulties is available right out the front of the centre. A wheelchair-accessible ramp is available between the street level and the Gallery foyer. People with mobility issues may be dropped off in the designated set-down and pick up area located in the porte cachere out the front of The Arts Centre Gold Coast. The Arts Theatre and Arts Cinema are both wheelchair accessible ( Please note – There is no lift acces to Balcony seating in the Arts Theatre).
