Items 1 to 60 of 3000 Items 1 to 60 of 3000Yard sales and thrift stores can be very hit-and-miss. When you find them you can get great bargains, but most of the time it’s not fruitful unless you have other reasons to shop there. When I built my Pokemon sculptures, I was able to do that using a bulk brick tub that lego was selling at the time (set #3033). I bought about 20 of those at $20 each and still ran out of certain parts – that’s why Squirtle’s tail was so small. Sadly, that tub was discontinued a few years ago and the bulk tubs that are available more recently haven’t had nearly as good of an assortment or as good of a price per brick. Probably the easiest way to get cheap parts is to shop on BrickLink. It’s an online shopping mall just for LEGO. Sellers buy sets in bulk (generally when they have clearance sales at retail stores) and sort the parts, putting the individual pieces on their stores. Then you can go in and order any part in quantity. It’s an awkward site to use, but I think the best way is to start at the Catalog tab, find the part you want in the color you want, and then find a store that has them in sufficient quantity.

(Disclaimer: I have my own BrickLink store.) There’s also bulk brick available from LEGO; usually they’re a lot more expensive that way but once in a while you can find some real bargains. Look for the “Pick-A-Brick” in the LEGO Shop-At-Home Store and if you have a LEGO store in your nearby mall, they have an in-person pick-a-brick wall where you can fill up a plastic cup with LEGO parts for a set price. And of course don’t forget about buying sets on sale. Check for sales at LEGO Shop-At-Home (and try their phone number too, as they have weekly phone-only sales as well). If you know any other good ways to find bulk LEGO at economical prices, please post it here as a comment…. Shop for LEGO on Amazon Price: Low to High Price: High to Low FAQ About LEGO Dimensions LEGO Dimensions uses magic to bring Toys to Life. At least that's the way it might seem if you’re as mystified by the whole thing as most parents are. Fret not, we’re here to help.

Read on to get a sense of the who, what, where, when, and how of LEGO Dimensions. What is LEGO Dimensions? LEGO Dimensions consists of a central storyline, core video game, physical LEGO toys, a Toy Pad, and a Gateway. The physical LEGO toys can each be built in several different variations then placed on the Toy Pad, along with toy characters, where they're beamed into the on-screen video game action. The player can then use that newly built LEGO toy or character in the video game story missions. How does LEGO Dimensions work? Through the touch-and-tap magic of NFC (near field communication). Each LEGO toy, character, and item that can be brought to life on screen features NFC technology, as does the Toy Pad. Different parts of the Toy Pad can be used to create different effects in the game. For example, if you place a character on the shrinking section of the Toy Pad that character will appear in the game shrunken in size. Who are the playable characters in LEGO Dimensions?

This is where the real fun starts. LEGO Dimensions includes multiple LEGO franchises, including DC Super Heroes, Lord of the Rings, Back to the Future, Jurassic World, The Simpsons, Doctor Who, Ghostbusters, and the Wizard of Oz. Characters from all of these franchises will not only be available to bring to life on screen, they can be mixed and matched. That means you can create a team of Batman, Gandalf, and Marty McFly to save the day. What platforms can I play LEGO Dimensions on? LEGO Dimensions is available for all of the major consoles, including PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Nintendo Wii U. Characters and items can be used across platforms, but video game discs will be platform specific. How do I get started? LEGO Dimensions Starter Packs for each console system include the video game, Toy Pad, bricks to build the Gateway (part of the Toy Pad), 3 toy figures, and a Batmobile toy. This gives you everything you need to begin your LEGO Dimensions adventure.

Additional Fun Packs, Level Packs, and Team Packs can be used to add new characters, gadgets, vehicles, and story levels to your game. Want more info about LEGO Dimensions? We have many more requests for LEGOs than we can fill right now.  And we receive more one-time requests constantly. One example is many pounds of used pieces to bless children at an orphanage in Zimbabwe .  Other recent ventures are to team up with Compassion International to help children in Brazil, bless children in Flint Michigan, and provide building supplies to a nonprofit science program for teens. Our most recent endever is to provide some financial help and needed supplies to the San Jose, CA flood victims. We are hoping to donate Lego toys to flood victims too after they clean up from this disaster. Another example of how we try to help is the work we’ve done with the “Build Your Journey” program through Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City is another example. This program was and inspiration by, Donald, a young leukemia patient. He recently beat this deadly disease, and instantly had a deep desire to help other kids that are still in the battle.

His dream is that kids would receive a small set every time they undergo treatment, or take a step toward recovery, since the process is so difficult. accepts donations of new and used loose LEGO bricks, figures, and sets. Simply put them in a bag, then in a box, and ship to us via UPS Ground or FedEx Ground. There are more packing tips here. Did you know LEGO pieces are not marked with the recycling symbol, and are a mixture of “Type 7 Plastic” (ABS) and other materials. If you dump them in your recycle bin your city will need to sort them out, and then just dump them in the landfill. Unfortunately most thrift shops end up dumping these unless they are in complete sets in the orignal box. Many other nonprofits don’t know what to do with mixed up pieces. We carefully sort LEGO brand pieces to match the type of pieces with what happens to be needed at the time (e.g. wheels, space themed, robotics, etc). We prepare them to make them available to kids and clubs who can enjoy the thrill of these pieces for the first time, or find those “missing pieces” they are longing for.
