It was so relaxing.. . .we did not want to leave. Great location, terrible service. Real shame about the service, really let the whole night feel like a waste. Really disappointed as they have a beautiful bar, with good drinks and semi decent Shisha. We found the place on trip advisor, when drives across the whole island we are told that we can't go in because we don't stay here. fancy for stylish evening & Japanese food to go with evening tropical cocktails? then go to the Rhu Bar at Four Seasons Resort Langkawi for an amazing ambience with the views of beautiful Andamans seas you can sit there for hours….. Great place to relax and take a drink. The have great seats and various seats. Great place to meditate or talk with a friend. I was very impressed by the view. Nice wide range of drinks. nice and relaxed atmosphere, and possible for teenagers to be a part of the experience too. Had a wonderful quiet moment enjoying the sunset at this place.
The service was fabulous and friendly. As there weren't many guests at the time, I was lucky to find the best seat in the house to enjoy the sunset. A romantic bar with breathtaking sunset view. Mostly quiet, and relaxing. you can either sit inside looking down the beach or, outside on a rocking chair/swing(I took rocking chair). beach is just in front of the bar so u can walk down there when feel like it. they have extensive wine and cocktail list, and food is good too(mainly Japanese... It's beautiful and mostly outside. Drinks are good and not expensive. There is a pool table and they offer Arguileh, waterpipe aka shisha with several flavors. But very relaxing for a night cap. Along with Wharton Esherick, Sam Maloof, and Wendell Castle, Nakashima was an artisan who disdained industrial methods and materials in favor of a personal, craft-based approach to the design.
What sets Nakashima apart is the poetic style of his work, his reverence for wood and the belief that his furniture could evince — as he put it in the title of his 1981 memoir — “The Soul of a Tree.” Born in Spokane, Washington, to Japanese immigrants, Nakashima traveled widely after college, working and studying in Paris, Japan and India, and at every stop he absorbed both modernist and traditional design influences. The turning point in Nakashima’s career development came in the United States in 1942, when he was placed in an internment camp for Asian-Americans in Idaho. There, Nakashima met a master woodcarver who tutored him in Japanese crafting techniques. A former employer won Nakashima’s release and brought him to bucolic New Hope, Pennsylvania, where Nakashima set up a studio and worked for the rest of his life. Nakashima’s singular aesthetic is best captured in his custom-made tables and benches — pieces that show off the grain, burls and whorls in a plank of wood.
