My husband works the night shift, 7 days on and 7 days off, 12 hour shifts. So for 7 straight nights in a row he works from 7pm at night to 7am in the morning. After about 3am in the morning, not much goes on and he just needs to be around in case of a call. So from time to time he'll and prop his feet up on something and try to kick back in his chair and rest. There's even a TV in their office to watch during this down time, but it's hard to get comfortable to rest or watch something in the short arm-less task chairs the office was issued. This chair was the perfect solution.This Viva office chair is not just great for sitting in at the desk to work, but also lets you fully recline back into a sleeping position. If you want to lay completely flat, you can. If you want to lay back into a slightly inclined position, you can do that too. There is a lever on the side of the chair that lets you to chose the exact position you want the back of the chair in, then lock it there.In addition to the reclining back of the chair, under the front of the chair there is a pull out foot rest.
This piece even folds out several extra inches, so it can be used by both shorter and taller people. My husband is 6 foot and he easily sits in this chair. Someone even taller than him could kick back and sleep fully stretched out.The black leather the chair is upholstered with is thick and soft. The stitching is done in white contrast, so it shows off all the nicely done seams. There are locking wheels on the base of the chair, so it can roll or stay in one place. And the arms of the chair are padded with the same thick black leather as the rest of it.The cushions of the chair are firm, so it's very supportive when working while sitting in it for hours at a time. The back of the chair has a built in leather covered pillow-top piece that helps cushion your back when laying down using the reclining function. The chair's design is very much a functional office chair. It's not like trying to work from an unpractical lounge chair. But at the same time, this Viva officer chair can really turn into a comfortable resting sleep chair.
It's sturdy, supportive, comfortable and can realistically be used people of all heights and sizes. My husband LOVES this chair and the guys he works with always switch out their chairs with his when they are working nights so they can use it too.Special tip: When you're putting the chair together, I highly suggest you have a second set of hands to help with attaching the back of the chair to the base. The cushions are thick, so you'll need one person to hold the two pieces together while the other person puts in the screws. But make note not to tighten these screws all the way down right away. At this point you will need to feed in the pillow piece from the back of the chair through the bottom of the chair, and Velcro it down. If you tighten the screws down before feeding the pillow piece through, you'll find it too hard to work with and just end up loosening the screws to get the pillow through. Having someone to help during the assembly of the chair will make it go so much easier.Sample provided for review
