The postcode is EH1 1DF. Unfortunately, there is not a car park on site for public use; however there are a few car parks within walking distance of the attraction, such as Waverley Station and St James Centre. There is also on-street metered parking on Market Street. Tours consist of groups of a maximum of 32 people and last approximately 80 minutes. Guests who wish to purchase General Admission tickets on the day of your visit, be advised that the General Admission queue can carry a wait time. To skip the queue you can book online and get priority entry.
Tours leave every 7-15 minutes depending on how busy the Dungeon is. Tickets can be purchased right here on our website, by calling our contact centre (0871 423 2250) or at the attraction on the day of your visit. By booking a ticket via our website you will have to select a date and time allocation; this will gain you priority entrance into the attraction. Unfortunately discount vouchers cannot be used in conjunction with online or advanced bookings as these are already discounted. Vouchers can only be used on the day of your visit and redeemed at our admissions area - they apply to the full walk up rates. Carer + 1 adult: £16.95 Carer + 1 child: £12.95 Price shown is the price for both people (carer goes free). To access these tickets, you should simply arrive at the Dungeon via the priority queue line with your carer’s badge or similar. These cannot be booked in advance. The recommended age for The Edinburgh Dungeon is 8 years and above, however it is up to the discretion of the accompanying adult. Many children enter The Edinburgh Dungeon and enjoy the experience, but please be aware it does get very dark inside the building and there are lots of loud noises. If at any time you need to leave the attraction, simply speak to the actor in the show you are in and they will arrange for someone to help you to the nearest exit as soon as possible. No child aged 15 or under will be admitted to the Edinburgh Dungeon unless accompanied and supervised by an adult aged 16 years or over. The boat ride is accessible as long as you are able to get in and out of it unaided.
However due to the complex nature of an emergency evacuation it is not possible for wheelchair users or guests who have considerable difficulties walking, to access the Boat Ride. You will not get wet! Drop Dead – Drop ride to doom ‘Drop Dead’ is an exhilarating vertical free fall drop ride. The minimum height restriction for Drop Ride is 1.4 meters. Children who are 1.4 meters in height must be accompanied by a parent or guardian to be able to ride the drop ride. All riders must have the ability to sit upright on the ride and brace themselves against the ride forces; wheelchair users must be able to transfer un-aided into and out of the ride seats. The ride is not suitable for visitors: Who have heart complaints or pacemakers With back or neck complaints With broken limbs or have had recent surgery Who have Photo Sensitive epilepsy That have a condition that may result in injury or complication from riding The Edinburgh Dungeon welcomes all guests with disabilities.

Unfortunately we do not have anywhere for guests to store their items. All personal belongings must be taken with you at all times. Waverley Station which is right next door to us has a left luggage facility which you can store belongings in for the day at a small fee. Please enquire at the station for further information. Please arrive at the attraction within the time slot indicated on your booking confirmation. You will need to know the surname the tickets were booked under and the reference number. On arrival simply give the name of the booking to our admissions team who will process your admission. PLEASE NOTE: if you do not arrive within your allocated arrival time, there may be an extended wait for the next available show time. In busy periods we cannot guarantee immediate entry if you miss your arrival time.
