These track lengths assume a car starting height of 29" using our track stand. Different starting heights will require different track lengths. Pinewood derby tracks are typically 35 to 40 feet or more. If you plan on using a pinewood derby track, you may need to shorten it or raise the starting gate. Or you can use the full track length and the car that travels the farthest in its lane is the heat winner. Weight can be added to a car by adding lego pieces to the bottom of the frame and by using our lego weights.
