Maybe one day the two worlds will collide on screen. Watch the moment below: The Adventure of The Blue Carbuncle – Lego – The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes by P. James Macaluso Jr Sherlock Holmes, the world’s “only unofficial consulting detective”, was first introduced to readers in A Study in Scarlet published by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle in 1887. It was with the publication of The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, however, that the master sleuth grew tremendously in popularity, later to become one of the most beloved literary characters of all time.

In this book series, the short stories comprising The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes have been amusingly illustrated using only Lego® brand minifigures and bricks. The illustrations recreate, through custom designed Lego models, the composition of the black and white drawings by Sidney Paget that accompanied the original publication of these adventures appearing in The Strand Magazine from July 1891 to June 1892. Paget’s iconic illustrations are largely responsible for the popular image of Sherlock Holmes, including his deerstalker cap and Inverness cape, details never mentioned in the writings of Conan Doyle. This uniquely illustrated collection, which features some of the most famous and enjoyable cases investigated by Sherlock Holmes and his devoted friend and biographer Dr. John H. Watson, including A Sandal in Bohemia and The Red-Headed League, is sure to delight Lego enthusiasts, as well as fans of the Great Detective, both old and new. THE ADVENTURE OF THE BLUE CARBUNCLE: Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson investigate the curious discovery of a blue carbuncle in the crop of a Christmas goose abandoned by a man during a scuffle with some street ruffians.

Holmes makes a series of deductions concerning the owner of a tattered old hat recovered along with the goose and thus sets out on the trail of the audacious thief who stole the precious stone five days previously. In the next year, Pacific Science will host three exhibits sure to inspire the curiosity among the community including The Art of the Brick, The International Exhibition of Sherlock Holmes and the world premiere of the brand new exhibition Terracotta Warriors: The Exhibition. Guests will be amazed and inspired by the artistic pieces by Nathan Sawaya made completely out of LEGOs in The Art of the Brick opening May 28. Designed to inspire ingenuity and creativity, The Art of the Brick is the world’s largest and most elaborate display of LEGO art featuring more than 100 works of art. The collection features Sawaya’s original pieces as well as re-imagined versions of some of the world’s most famous art masterpieces such as Van Gogh’s Starry Night and Da Vinci’s Mona Lisa.

The exhibition concludes with a spectacular and innovative, multimedia collection of LEGO brick infused hyper-realistic photography produced in collaboration with award-winning photographer Dean West. Guests will have the opportunity to get an up-close and in-person view of the iconic, pop culture fan favorite, Yellow, a life-size sculpture of a man ripping his chest open with thousands of yellow LEGO bricks cascading from the cavity. In addition, visitors will come face-to-face with a 20- foot-long T-Rex dinosaur skeleton made out of bricks. Finally, guests are invited to sign a LEGO brick and add it to the Pacific Science Center’s LEGO wall of art. The Art of the Brick tickets are now on sale for the general public. Tickets are $9 in addition to general admission for non-Members and $7 for Pacific Science Center Members. The Art of the Brick will be on display from May 28 through September 11, 2016. Opening October 15, guests will delve into the forensic science behind the popular nineteenth century detective with The International Exhibition of Sherlock Holmes.

Guests will learn how Sherlock Holmes, a scientific expert ahead of his time, used seemingly trivial observations of clues others missed to solve some of his era’s most mysterious crimes. His practices and techniques, created in the mind of doctor-turned-author Conan Doyle, changed the way police work was conducted and remain in practice today. The International Exhibition of Sherlock Holmes features original manuscripts and period artifacts, investigative tools influenced and used by Sherlock Holmes, and interactive crime-solving opportunities. Guests will be transported into Sherlock Holmes’ London to solve a crime in a world filled with innovation and experimentation – and just receiving its introduction to his ground-breaking methods. The International Exhibition of Sherlock Holmes will be on display at Pacific Science Center from October 15, 2016 until January 8, 2017. Tickets will go on sale in summer 2016.
