From this sprang a large number of 'Text Based' programming Languages, such as C and Java. To LEGO's credit, they didn't send in the Lawyers, but embraced what had been achieved by the many Mindstorms users.Prior to the release in 2006, the LEGO 8547: Mindstorms NXT 2.0: Robot, LEGO made the decision to make the both the NXT Programmable Brick's Software & Hardware "Open Source".
