Scroll below to watch a video interview with Brandon Flowers. Great way to relax. Just a view of the lake and good food. If you don't have anything else to do, hop on the bike, eat and relax, drive around the area.

This gets busy and packed during Songkran though. Take time to travel to Huay Tung Toa Lake north of the city of Chiang Mai. It's well worth the drive, but it's best to have a guide to tell you the whole story about the lake. We love this place. The view is so cool, the lake with the mountains in the background and the food, well, it's just the best in Chiangmai Mai. We always have Tom yam kung it really is excellent, spicey and fresh, loads of prawns and the freshness of the lemongrass is too good to describe. Sitting in you own bamboo... What a great place to come for lunch and relax in the little huts around the lake. It's set up very well and the food is yummy. It costs 50 bht to come in and food not expensive. Only 30km out of town. Peaceful lake, busy at the weekends, great to walk round, chill with friends, food and drink good. Can be sad sometimes seeing all the dogs with their puppies with no homes to go to. Great hikes off the lake. The view is very good but in the weekend always crowd with local people.

Some groups is drinking beer all day and make annoying voice and sing all day. For foreigners, I recommend Chiang Mai Grand Canyon instead of this place. Went to the lake in Chiang Mai to see what the locals do for a getaway from the city. The lake is pretty big, lot's of hut's to sit and relax in, plenty of food to order and drinks. Nice and relaxing place to dip your feet in the water. This is one of the few lakes around Chiang Mai. It has a number of lawns for sunbathing around the lake as well as restaurants with small huts in the water. We went on a weekday, and there was practically no one. The lake was so quiet, and we could feed the fish by slotting 20 baht into a box at the side of the lake and getting a packet of fish food. It's a nice getaway from the hustle and bustle of the Chiang Mai crowd, but it was not... Excellent afternoon at the lake. We were desperate to get out of the city but all the tours/trips are very expensive and driving on the roads terrified us!
