I was not about to lose a chance at owning one after passing on the 8421 and regret never being able to find it reasonably price since... So what I think... The 42009 is high quality, complex, and amazes me just how intelligent Lego engineers really are with each build I have done.
I also bought the crawler crane. Crane pivots on base by hand. Not mechanically with on-board electric motor. But does that really matter? Still a great work of art and function!
