Because of her condition walking alone is a difficult task. We got her a walker that worked for awhile but getting to the car and into the doctors office is becoming more challenging. So after weeks and weeks of research I decided to buy this chair, my mother is not a small person because of her medication she is a 3X so she is pretty big. I was amazed at the room on the seat itself I did not measure it but she did not feel cramped at all. And the leg foot strap she said made a huge difference her legs did not cramp once like a normal wheelchair. I am 5'3 and only weigh 120lbs this chair is lighter than her walker I did not have any trouble lifting in and out of the car.
The only downfall I found was that if the threshold on a door entry is high the wheels will not go over it, but all we did is have my mom stand up for a second and pushed the chair over and she sat back down was no big deal to us. I also purchased a cushion and a bag for the back on the chair which really helped a lot. The cushion did not make the chair to high or anything. So for the price and weight I would highly suggest this transport chair other chairs that are lighter are more expensive. This is well worth the money and I got it in 2 days via Fedex.
