These are not used every day, but they are used more often than “formal” dining rooms.Here are some examples of what I might see often that are bought as “sets”. A set does not always mean uniformity. Some “sets” are a bit eclectic. They might have a bench on one side. They might be counter height with barstool height chairs. They might have four matching chairs, two on either side but with different chairs on the ends. They might have a different color of table than the chairs as in one of the photos below with the white table and gray chairs. If the buyer goes for a 6 chair set vs a 4 chair set, the two ends can be gray or they can be white, but it is still a “set” with the furniture store or manufacturer being the one to add a bit of eclectic flair.In other words “bought as a set” does not have to mean a “matching set”.Formal Dining Rooms purchased as sets are usually “formal” style such as Queen Anne or Chippendale.Not let’s talk a bit about Dining Room Tables and Chairs that are NOT bought as “sets” and why not.
