Danielle Jones, 24, woke up to discover her daughter Leia-Mai Smith unresponsive at the family home in Gloucester, Gloucestershire hours after she put her in the baby swing.Ms Jones, a full-time mother, had fallen asleep while cuddled up on the sofa with one of her other three children but woke up in the early hours to discover her daughter was not breathing and her lips had turned blue. Danielle Jones, 24, woke up to discover her three-month-old daughter Leia-Mai Smith unresponsive in her baby bouncer at the family home in the Matson area of Gloucester, Gloucestershire (above) in June last yearShe attempted mouth-to-mouth and paramedics were called, but Leia-Mai could not be saved and passed away on June 15 last year.In a written statement read out at Gloucestershire Coroner's Court today, Ms Jones said that she lives 'every day with the pain' of losing her daughter. She was not present at the hearing but the inquest was told how she fell asleep on the sofa after spending the day buying Father's Day presents with her children.

She said: 'I woke up at around 4.30am and saw that Leia-Mai was not breathing and her lips had turned blue.'I took her out of the swing, gave mouth-to-mouth resuscitation and dialled 999.'When the paramedics arrived I pleaded with them to get my baby to breathe.'It all seemed so unreal, like a bad dream, and I thought I would suddenly wake up and it would all be okay.'I love my children dearly and live every day with this pain.'She may just have been a baby but she was my baby.'Katy Skerrett, senior coroner for Gloucestershire, said Leia-Mai fell asleep in the baby bouncer after being put in the swing by her mother. She told the hearing: 'Leia-Mai was placed in the baby swing for a number of hours and it is an unusual place to sleep.'It was an unusual sleeping arrangement and there was a label on the baby swing which warned parents not to leave the child unattended.'More recent baby swings carry a different warning which says that they are not intended for long periods of sleeping.' In a written statement read out at Gloucestershire Coroner's Court (pictured) today, Ms Jones said that she lives 'every day with the pain' of losing her daughter.

The coroner returned a narrative verdict at the inquest Pathologist Dr Thomas Martin told the inquest that there was no evidence of hypoxia, but said it is possible the youngster suffered a cot death. He said: 'Sudden Infant Death Syndrome was investigated but we cannot prove that this was a cause of death.'There were fears that the baby had a viral infection some days before death but my examination found no signs of any infection.'A genetic report found an excess of DNA in the baby's cells but it is not likely this played a part in her death.'Coroner Ms Skerrett said it was not clear what the cause of death was and returned a She said: 'Leia-Mae, a 12 week and three-day-old baby had been given her night-time bottle and been placed in a baby swing.'The swing has a warning label attached to it, stating never leave child unattended.'Leia-Mae's mum fell asleep and awoke at approximately 4.30am on June 15.'She immediately discovered that Leia-Mae was not breathing and called an ambulance.'Paramedics attempted resuscitation but were unable to revive Leia-Mae and she passed away at her home address.'The pathologist was unable to provide a cause of death.'There are features of hypoxia present but also sudden infant death syndrome remains a possible cause.'
