When a middle-income person goes to buy coffee and is given a choice between the expensive Starbucks brand of coffee, the medium-priced brands of Folgers and Maxwell House, and a frustratingly ugly but cheap bag of coffee from the Walmart chain of stores, then the person he’ll probably choose anything but coffee from Walmart.

Scientists conducted a test in which people tasted blindfolded coffee, showed that Walmart coffee tastes better than Folgers and Maxwell House coffee, moreover, people found it as tasty as Starbucks coffee .

But all this takes on an even more twisted plot when it comes to the test between the Pepsi and Coke brands. The blindfolded people preferred Pepsi one by one, but as soon as they were told that it was Pepsi, they immediately changed their minds. Scientists performed brain scans and found that people were telling the truth about their taste preferences. Pepsi really became less tasty for them as soon as they found out that it was Pepsi.
