The Valspar Corporation, which owns PlastiKote among other paint brands, has announced a strategic partnership with B&Q which will see the DIY giant supply a full selection of premium Valspar paints in every store.Valspar will be positioned as one of the retailer's flagship paint brands, and the two companies are collaborating to create "an entirely new consumer experience not seen before in the UK decorative paints marketplace." It is set to significantly expand Valspar's presence in the UK and Ireland, and will bring consumers more choice for interior and exterior paints which can be custom tinted. Valspar chief executive Gary Hendrickson said: "Our partnership with B&Q is another important step in expanding our global consumer paint business and bringing innovative paint solutions to new retail partners and markets." "We're looking forward to helping B&Q grow the paint category and making its stores the destination of choice in the UK and Ireland for consumers' painting projects."
A B&Q spokesperson said: "We can confirm that B&Q and the Valspar Corporation have been trialling a new partnership that will transform the customer experience of the paint market in the UK. We will have more to say in early 2013 with a view to roll out mid 2013." The cabinet legs we use have a 40mm diameter and are manufactured of a malleable plastic making it incredibly tough and capable of withstanding even the most demanding weight loads. This is especially important when using Granite or Quartz worktops. Wall units all come fitted with heavy duty concealed hanging brackets tough enough for the most demanding of installations.
Our cabinet fabrication is glue and dowel as opposed to the more common place cam and dowel (which will show exposed fittings, especially unsightly on the underside of wall units). The units are pre-assembled with glued joints and are squared, then clamped using the very latest computer controlled through feed press for precision and accuracy. Unit backs are made using matching 18mm material (not 8mm as many of our competitors), regardless of the type. Our cabinets are constructed from 18mm Egger MFC (Melamine Faced Chipboard) which offers over 250 colours and edged with matching 1mm impact resistant ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene), giving the best possible protection against bumps, knocks, scrapes and moisture. Many companies supply lower grade MFC and use paper edging which has no moisture protection and can easily chip over time.
