Inspired by the ancient art of topiary, these furniture-sculptures are light and minimal, exploiting the versatility IVY DINING CHAIR, SOFA, ARMCHAIR, TABLES AND LIGHT Lead Time: 12-14 Weeks The IVY collection comprises of a dining chair with and without arms, sofa, armchair, tables and light, designed by Paola Navone for EMU. It is inspired by the ancient topiary art, the trimming of trees and shrubs in order to give them ornamental shapes. This art derived from the attempt to model nature. For those who desire total immersion in nature, position them in the garden and allow climbing vines to grow around them. The various deep-drawn elements are projection welded together and joined to a frame of metal rods that not only characterises the forms, but also makes the structure extremely solid. The metal sheet is pre-galvanised, and the entire structure undergoes a cataphoretic process before being painted. Colours available: white, sky blue and orange. There are seat, back & scatter cushions available for the sofa and armchair.
The luminescent side table has a solid sheet metal top with a photovoltaic device with 5 LEDs which store solar energy during the day and release at night. The large dining table is available with metal or teak top. The rectangle low table is available with optional tile inserts on the top. Paola Navone has a straightforward approach, a visionary style and an eclectic philosophy. Paola Navone, born in Turin, has adopted Milan as her home. Happy and relaxed she changes roles from architect, designer and art director to interior decorator and exhibition and event organiser for a highly selective customer portfolio, including: Abet Laminati and Gervasoni (she is also their art director), Armani Casa, Piazza Sempione, Cappellini Mondo, Driade, Orizzonti, Casamilano, Salviati bijoux, Egizia, Baxter, Poliform, Viva, Falperand of course EMU.
