BJ’s Wholesale Club has joined a growing list of retailers who plan to keep their doors closed on Thanksgiving Day out of respect for their employees. In a statement released Wednesday, the wholesale warehouse chain said it will remain closed on Thanksgiving so its more than 25,000 employees can spend time with family and friends. “To give our team a well-deserved holiday, our home office, 209 clubs and three distribution centers will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, allowing our 25,000 dedicated Team Members the time they deserve to celebrate all that they are grateful for with family and friends,” said Laura Sen, CEO of BJ’s Wholesale Club. “We invite our Members to shop for all their Thanksgiving and holiday needs at great values leading up to Thanksgiving and on Black Friday starting at 7 a.m.” BJ’s said it plans to offer holiday deals beginning Nov. 20.
