Eilish was born in Los Angeles, California, on the 18th of December, 2001, as Billie Eilish Pirate Baird O’Connell. She was raised by her parents Maggie Baird and Patrick O'Connell, both of whom are in the entertainment industry, in the L.A. neighboorhood of Highland Park and was homeschooled.

From a very young age, Eilish had a flair for music. While growing up, she saw her elder brother, Finneas O’Connell, fall in love with music. Additionally, her mother wrote songs and her father played instruments such as the piano and the ukulele. And at the age of eight, she joined the Los Angeles Children’s Chorus. By the time she turned eleven, Eilish started writing songs exploring a strain of melancholy, minimal, and slightly surrealistic pop influenced as much by Lana Del Rey as the radical honesty of rappers like Tyler, the Creator and Earl Sweatshirt.

Her elder brother had a band of his own. He had written a song named ‘Ocean Eyes’ and asked his sister to record it in her voice. This accidental song turned out to be the breakthrough success for Billie and boosted her career. It surpassed 14 million online streams and spawned a number of remixes with Astronomyy, Blackbear, and Goldhouse. Eilish followed up in February 2017 with "Bellyache," then landed another track, "Bored," on the Netflix series 13 Reasons Why. An EP, dont smile at me, featuring the singles "COPYCAT" and "watch," followed later that summer. Her debut full-length album titled "When We Fall Asleep, Where Do We All Go?" has been released March 29th, 2019 via Interscope Records.
