How did you hear about us? *GoogleYahooBingWord of MouthHome ShowExisting ClientOthers The Frameless Glass Bifold Effect These doors provide complete uninterrupted panoramic views because no vertical profiles are required. No wonder they won the AWA award for most innovative door/window system. They really give a wow factor to anywhere they are put, but don’t take our word for it, check out our gallery. They are known in the industry as frameless bifolds, but they actually operate by sliding and turning each panel individually. All the hardware is specifically designed to ensure that views remain unobstructed. State of the Art System We’ve teamed up with Hafele to bring you these German designed doors. One thing that sets it apart from other frameless glass doors in Melbourne is that no bulky/hard to install parking station tracks are required. Further, they can be adjusted a huge 35mm, made to open either inwards or outwards, has flush floor sill options and is powered by heavy-duty top rolling hardware.

Other than metal and hardware, which comes from Germany (stocked here), we do all the fabricating and make each door to measure here in Melbourne. FRAMELESS GLASS DOOR INFORMATION Like the look and want to know more? The following is a simple explanation of the various options and components that make up our frameless glass bifold door. Our frameless glass bifold door can be made to swing either outwards or inwards and slide with an unlimited number of panels. As the chart below shows the maximum width each panel can be is 800mm. It’s more cost effective to have the largest possible doors available in you opening. We offer customers a huge range of Dulux, Colourbond and Interpon powder coat colours as well as anodised metal. Our Dulux colour chart, which encompasses most Colourbond colours, can be downloaded on the left. Our standard range is the Duralloy range, but on request we can also do the Precious, RapidCure, Duratec and other colours. If you would like us to order you a free sample card please just contact us so we can arrange it for you.

All our frameless glass doors in Melbourne come with a stainless steel patented one-handed operation cable, which are specifically designed to be minimal and not obstruct the view. As standard we also put on a small (44mm round) silver anodised knob grip handle on the doors, which allows easy access from outside/inside. Below is a close up of this handle and cable. The glass for our frameless systems always needs to be single glazed toughened glass because each panel needs to be rigid enough to support itself. This system was not designed to hold double glazed glass because the spacer bars would be visible and defeat the purpose of the doors, which is to create an uninterrupted view. As standard we usually use 12mm thick toughened glass, which is edging towards bulletproof glass thickness. The majority of our clients go for clear glass, but 10mm low E (performance glass) and tinted glass is also available. All our frameless glass bifolds come with clear UV resistant seals in between the glass panels.

There are two sill options for this door system both of which are shown below. Essentially the sills are very similar in design. One thing to keep in mind if you go for the flush floor sill is that you or your builder needs to allow for drainage so any water that gets into the recess can escape. Samples of both sill types can be obtained from our showroom so you can see exactly how the bifold will sit in your opening. These doors hang on twin ball bearing runners which have a 65kg bearing load to ensure that the panels can be slid open extremely smoothly. When the bifolds are closed they are hidden away within the head track as the cross section below shows. As standard we attach two cam locks to the opening door panels (top and bottom) to ensure that when the doors are fully closed they are securely locked into place. The image to the right shows this lock at the bottom of the opening door panel. There are a number of flyscreens that fit our bifold doors. The most popular flyscreens we supply are Centor, Freedom and Phantom retractable flyscreens and Brio and Ultrascreen pleated screens.

If you’re not sure if you want a flyscreen don’t worry, they can be fitted at a later date. Below is a video of the Centor and Freedom retractable screen in action. Our frameless glass bifold doors in Melbourne come with a range of warranties: Standard HAFELE lifetime warranty on hardware* All Duralloy powder coat colours are supported by a 10 year durability warranty by Dulux* Other powder coats come with similar or longer Dulux warranty. Toughened single glazed glass comes with a 5 year back to back manufacturer warranty (not including scratches)* All Nu-Line workmanship comes with a 1 year warranty* * See Nu-Line Windows for more details about supplier warranties and terms and conditions. These doors have been specifically designed to only accommodate thick single glazed glass because the spacer bars within double glazed glass would be visible and defeat the purpose of the doors, which is to create an uninterrupted view. No, we make everything to measure in our factory.

Once you accept our quotation (usually based on your approximate measurements or plans) we will come to site and laser measure your opening and make the bifolds exactly to size to ensure a perfect fit. Take a look at the configuration section above to see our maximum door sizes. The widest we can make these door panels is 800mm and we recommend making the panels as close to this as possible for the best look and to be cost effective. So essentially divide your opening by 800mm and round up to the nearest whole number. This will indicate the number of panels that is best for your opening. In fact, we won’t even give you an option to install this system yourself because a high-level of technical knowledge and training is required. Our dedicated experienced teams of installers have done so many now they know them like the back of their hand.Check out the configurations tab above which shows that we can do more than just 90 degree corners.
