I can see this on the kitchen pantry, downstairs pantry, and the laundry room doors, all with their own heights of shelves. You can turn your old closet doors into a handy organizer for your home office. Bifold doors are an ideal option for a closet because they save space and allow complete access to the items inside. But they can actually come in handy for other projects around the house too. With a little paint and a few minor adjustments, you can repurpose old bifold doors in a variety of ways, so there's no need to throw them away if you decide to update your closet doors.

Make a Headboard Whether your bifold doors are paneled or louvered, you can easily turn them into an attractive headboard for your bed. You can use the doors in a vertical position and cut them down to size to create the ideal headboard for your bed. To give the headboard a finished look, it usually helps to add some crown molding or other decorative trim to the top edge. Depending on the rest of your bedroom's decor, you can leave the doors with a natural wood finish for a rustic look or paint them to match the other furniture. A distressed faux finish is an ideal option for a shabby chic look. To ensure that the headboard is stable, make sure to mount it to the wall using a cleat. Create a Room Divider Old bifold doors can make an ideal room divider or screen for a room that requires a little privacy or visual separation. For the most effective divider, you'll need two sets of doors so you have four panels in total, but you don't need to buy any additional hardware to connect them. Bifold doors usually have three sets of hinges, so just remove the center hinge from each set of doors and use the two to connect the pairs.

The new divider can stand on its own if the panels are slightly bent at the hinges, and because they're easy to fold up, you can remove them whenever you want to open up the room. You can also paint the doors different colors on each side so the shade corresponds to the part of the room that it's facing. If your room is large, you may want to use additional sets of doors to create an even longer divider. Make a File Organizer An old, louvered bifold door can come in handy in your home office when you need help organizing your files. Separate the two panels that form the door; you can create two organizers or save the other for another project. Spray-paint the door to match the rest of the decor in your office, or choose a bright shade to add a pop of color to the room. After it has dried, mount it to the wall so the louvered slats are angled upward and place your file folder between the slats to separate and organize them. You can also use the door to hold magazines or catalogs. Dress up Your Garden If you want to add a little color -- and privacy -- to your garden, use your old bifold doors to create a fence in front of your flowers and greenery.

You'll need multiple sets of doors, though the exact number will depend on how long you want the fence to be. Once you've connected the sets of doors with hinges, attach metal posts to help the fence stand. Before setting up the fence, spray-paint the doors and posts in a bright color that complements the plants in your garden. When you're ready to place the fence, dig post holes for the metal posts and add cement to each hole to anchor the posts in place. /Getty Images Suggest a CorrectionShelf TowelDoor TowelShelving TowelWall ShelvingOpen ShelvingBathroomideasBathroom ShelfBathroom OrganizerBathroom TowelsForwardTurn an old door into a bathroom shelf/towel rack (click picture for 20 Simple and Creative Ideas Of How To Reuse Old Doors)Blue with tangerine = beautiful color combination!
