Read more about this productIN FEBRUARY, I went to Charleston, S.C., to explore its happening food scene and frozen-in-amber 19th-century architecture, but I couldn’t tell you much about either: I barely got out of bed. The billowy mattress, silky-smooth sheets, puffy down comforter and mountain of pillows at the Vendue, an inn in the city’s historic district, were positively narcotic. My husband had to pry me out. The bed even made up for the hotel’s spotty service. On the first day of our two-night vacation, the housekeeper didn’t get to our... Could North Korea's Missiles Reach the U.S.? Room Tip: My Partner has a hard time walking and parking is far from entrance of Hotel, luckily he had me to d... 575 reviews sorted by: This is a great hotel in for the area. My first experience was great, the staff was cordial and always willing to answer any questions. Penny at the front desk was exceptional helpful and we loved chatting with her and hearing her English accent. When we initially called to book the room, Sherry was also wonderful in telling us about the property and taking our reservation.

We will be back! We were due to stay for two nights at this hotel but as the hotel pool was closed and there was very little else to do around the hotel, we only stayed for one night. Also the hotel restaurant was closed, so we had to drive into the village to get something to eat.The rooms were adequate, not great, but on the plus side, the breakfast was very good. This is the third time I came back to this elegant hotel in Big Bear Lake. Check in and out is swift. Lobby is nicely decorated especially during holidays. There is a grand piano for your artistic expression. They saw that I have 3 kids so they brought in extra Duvet Covers, blankets and pillows. The layout are split level, so ask for the first floor if possible. Otherwise, you might have to go up or down some stairs. Complimentary full breakfast is worth mentioned with scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, english muffins, variety of breads, oatmeals, cook-yourself -Belgian waffle, milk, orange juice, yogurt, coffee, hot chocolate, English tea, jam, honey, apple, banana, orange, .....

Beds are firm but only double not queen. Bath room is nicely decorated. Tub is spic and span clean. I chose the room with balcony so I can hangout. There is gas fireplace for decoration, but nice feature during winter. Book directly with Best Western. They have discount rate for AAA, or senior.... Room Tip: Ask for first floor and with balcony This was a pleasant find through an internet search. A really nice hotel with lots of little extras. Our room had a fireplace, balcony, coffee maker. It was very clean and nicely furnished. The hotel is located between Snow Summitt and Bear mountain. Less than 10 minutes from each. The complimentary breakfast was also a surprise. It included a buffet with egss, bacon etc. Was only expecting the usual continental breakfast. The staff was very accomodating to our early check-in. Within walking distance to restaurants and stores. It was my girlfriend's birthday and she wanted to go skiing. I booked a room at this hotel through the best Western reservation system where I am a member.

When I checked in I was tired from the 160 mile drive. My girlfriend went skiing and I wanted to take a nap. I got to the room and there was hammering going on so I decided to just drop my luggage and go for a walk. I came back around 5:30 and there was screaming kids in the next room. I called the front desk and asked to be moved. They said they were full and we could not be moved. The noise was intolerable and rather than deal with it all night we grabbed our stuff and went to the front desk. They were very unprofessional and simply did not want to hear it. They wanted to charge us $194 for a room that should have been $164 and we did not even use a towel. I did not want to stay there and argue as it was getting dark and I needed to drive down the winding mountain roads. There was no place else to stay. I told them I would dispute ANY charges to my card as this was not my doing and we did not even wrinkle the sheets. The next day there was a $50 charge on my account. When I called the hotel the manager got very nasty with me and called me and my girlfriend liars.
