Clean Up Your Act: The Ultimate Guide to Washing Your FaceSkip to main content 7 Genius Ways to Prevent Wrinkles While You Sleep Make the most of your beauty rest with these derm-tested tricks.Ok so, this might be my favorite secret model tip in the whole world: dunking your face in a bowl of ice water.I just finished reading I Didn’t Come Here To Make Friends: Confessions of a Reality Show Villain by Courtney Robertson— she’s a top model & was on The Bachelor, Ben’s season. Honestly I’m not a Bachelor/ette fan. I’ve never got in to the show. No offense to anyone who likes it ( because I know there’s a lotta die hard Bach lovers ) but it’s so cheese. Like, the girls are so damn dramatic…& bitchy/PMS-y. If I hear the phrase “the most dramatic season yet in Bachelor history” again, I might lose my mind. There are a lot of the girls that have been on the show, who are really rad. Remember this post on Michelle Money? I also love Emily Maynard ( doll ).

Anddddd Courtney Robertson always stood out because of her feisty, no BS personality. Tenley is so cool too & one of the sweetest people I’ve ever met. Ok, so we’re getting off track. Point: I was reading Courtney’s juicy book & she reminded me a modeling tip that I used to do all the time but kinda forgot about— dunking my face in ice water. I swear it works magic. Here’s what you do: So instead of trying fancy-ass creams or complaining of puffy eyes, try this tip ( duration: 10-30 seconds, 3 times in the AM works best ). Models do this ALL the time before shoots because it de-puffs the eyes, eases redness, tightens the skin, fights wrinkles, & keeps them looking so fresh and so clean, clean. Also, anyone a Real Housewives fan? Whelp, the oh-so-fab-I-love-twenty-five-year-old-boys-cougar-minx, Sonia Morgan talks about this trick all the time. She says she HAS to do it every morning or she doesn’t look as fresh. I have to agree. ESP if you’re hungover.

Ice x water x your face= hangover cure for the face. The before & after is mind-blowing. After trying this, you literally wouldn’t want to leave the house before soaking your face in ice water. Trust meeeee, you’ll be feeling bright eyed & bushy tailed immediately. Don’t have time to do this? Rub an ice cube all over your face while you’re brushing your teeth. P.S. Lauren Conrad swears by “ice cube facials” too. What’s your best kept beauty tip? I shared mine…your turn! { If you’re looking for a night time eye fix, click here } ++ Click below to shop Courtney’s book & my fav store-bought eye masks: Design by Blog-Doo | 5 benefits of a night shower (including improved sleep) Trade the morning shower for one before bed for better sleep and more. While some people may find the prospect of starting the day without a shower a bit daunting, there’s a lot to be said for washing at night. Especially if you have trouble sleeping. extolls perhaps the single best virtue of PM showering, noting that if you want to improve your sleep, showering at night is the way to go.

“Experts say there's evidence that a night shower can help you drift off,” Abigail Abrams writes, “if you time it just right.” But there’s more good than just good sleep that can come from a moonlight shower. But first things first, better sleep. Abrams explains that body temperature is a key component in regulating circadian rhythm, the inner clock that tells the body when to feel sleepy or bright-eyed. Researchers have found that warming your body can help bring on sleep as long as there’s enough time to cool down afterward. While the studies were examining baths, a 20-minute shower would work the same, says Shelby Harris, director of behavioral sleep medicine at New York’s Montefiore Medical Center. Just be sure to aim for the circadian sweet spot and finish your shower about an hour and a half before you go to bed.2. Do you really want to sleep with all the grime-sweat-germs you picked up during the day? Showering before slipping between the sheets promises you won’t be stewing all night with the things you gathered all day.3.

How often do you launder your pajamas and sheets? However often it is, you can do it less frequently if you are not introducing a dirty body into them every night.4. Washing your face before bed is not exclusive to showering, but doing them together makes it much easier. According to the National Sleep Foundation, washing your face before bed helps reduce breakouts, improves your moisturizer’s efficacy, helps prevents wrinkles and lessens your chance of eye infections.5. An improved morning routine While a shower can certainly wake you up, skipping one is nothing a cold splash of water on the face and a cup of coffee (if you swing that way) can’t cure. One wonderful bonus of showering at night means that you free up that shower-drying time in the morning for something else that brings you joy – which is the best way to start the day. Whether it be meditation, sunrise viewing, writing, morning quality time with a partner or family member, a relaxed cup of coffee with a book … or even an extra 20 minutes of sleep, you can now have the extra time to do it.

We are very much particular about how our skin looks and do every possible way to make it look young and vibrant by putting on a heavy make-up during the day but we often tends to neglect or forget the night time beauty rituals which are utmost important or basically a key to looking much younger and healthier for longer. Your skin comes in contact with innumerable array of things throughout the day which are responsible for causing damage to the skin by forming wrinkles and fine lines. But you can reverse this by taking good care of skin and hair during the night. A good night’s sleep plays a huge role in keeping our skin in good health. You all must be wondering how ? Sleep is a restorative and regenerative process. When we asleep, our body produces a growth hormone which aids in cell and tissue repair. Cellular renewal of our skin is faster at night than during the day. But only a good night’s sleep is not good enough for a healthy skin until and unless we put in some little bit of efforts.

So, if you really want to have a younger looking beautiful skin, follow these bedtime beauty tips before you hit the bed to wake up looking refreshed and gorgeous. Make-up acts like a magnet for all the outside elements from the day like dirt, dust, pollution etc. and going to bed with make-up on is like sending a cordial invite to various skin problems like cloged pores of skin which leads to large pores, acne and irritated skin. Washing your face is essential because if you don’t wash, the bacteria will have a lot of time and a perfect environment to multiply and damage your skin. It not only removes the layer of dirt, sweat and other foreign debris that have accumulated on your skin while you go about your daily routines but allows your skin to breathe. If you are too tired and don’t feel like washing your face before going to bed, make it a practice to wash it off when you get back to home from work so you don’t wind down and make lame excuses. Remember, “Earlier is better than never” !

Apply all over your face and neck using your fingers. After sometime, remove the cream from your face completely using cotton swab and wash your face with mild warm water. It cleanses the skin from all the dust and germs that we come across during the day and makes the skin soft and supple. RAW MILK works wonder as a facial cleanser, you can use that if you want to. It is really good for people with oily or acne-prone skin. Those with dry or normal skin should never use toners containing alcohol. Apply a small amount of toner to a soft cotton ball and wipe your face. It not only shrinks or tightens the pores but also restores the natural pH balance of skin and makes you feel refreshed. It removes any residue left behind by your cleanser. If you want a natural one, ROSE WATER is the best option for you.
