Mattresses are made with a variety of materials and technologies to deliver support systems that meet the broad array of needs, tastes, and budgets. California King: A California king mattress measures approximately 72 inches wide by 84 inches long – 4 inches narrower and 4 inches longer than a regular king. In fact, buying the mattress without its matching foundation may affect the terms of the warranty. Adjustable Bed Bases: An adjustable bed base allows you to customize your mattress position by using a remote control to independently adjust the head and foot of the bed for maximum comfort.
Adjustable bases are compatible with most innerspring, foam and air mattresses. Since flexing causes extra wear on the mattress, choosing a quality mattress is very important. Foundation Profiles: Mattresses and the box springs they’re paired with have varying heights, or profiles. A set with a higher profile will be thicker and may cover more of your headboard. Most mattress sets have a low-profile box spring option that reduces the overall height. Mattress Warranties: The warranty on the new mattress and foundation you purchase is not an indicator of how long the product should be used before replacement. The mattress warranty is there to protect the customer from product defects, not against the gradual loss of comfort and support. Body Impressions: It is normal for your mattress to get body impressions. Many of today’s top-quality mattresses use extra-plush foams and fibers to create comfort layers designed to cradle your body and relieve pressure. The first few weeks you
sleep on a new mattress with extra comfort layers, you will likely notice some body impressions on the surface. These impressions are normal. They indicate that the comfort layers are conforming to your body, as they are supposed to do, and shouldn’t be considered a sign that something is wrong with your new mattress.
