OK but not to my taste but brilliantly made. The Lego movie was surprisingly good, so much so I bought the DVD.It's witty and the animation is really charming. My grandson loves Lego so I thought the movie would keep him occupied but after about 8 minutes he became disinterested. Here is the thing, I love slapstick, the old Animaniacs and Pixar like humor and all that, but I didn't even chuckle and not even sure I am going to continue.
Fantastic on so many levels and funny through out. Memories of Lego bought back. The movie opens with the wise old wizard, Vitruvius, (voiced by Morgan Freeman) carefully guarding a secret, very powerful weapon known as The Kragle. However, for various reasons, the weapon is stolen from him by the evil tyrants of the Lego universe, Lord Business and his villainous sidekick, Bad Cop. Although acknowledging the potential disaster, Vitruvius prophesies that help will come in the form of an extraordinary individual, called The Special, who will discover the Piece of Resistance-the perfect shield against the Kragle. All the trouble, however, begins when a simple construction worker by the name of Emmett Brickowski, from Bricksburg, somehow stumbles upon a magical hole in a construction site, where he finds the Piece of Resistance. This is noticed by Wyldsyde, part of Vitruvius' fellowship that is dedicated to saving the world from the evil clutches of Lord Business.
Convinced that Emmett is The Special, Vitruvius sends him on a journey to save the world from the Kragle. Emmett finds himself in a variety of extremely complicated situations, all of which he has no idea how to handle.
