I looked at the other recommendations for an Aeron chair alternative and I can't help but wonder if the other answerers have ever even used an Aeron chair before. At a company I used to work for, we had Aeron chairs since we all sat at a computer all day. They took preventing long term chronic pain really seriously. We'd have experts come to us every now and then to make sure our chair adjustments and body posture were correct. As for the one I use, after leaving the job, I wanted a similar chair but less expensive and after a ton of research, I bought the Quantum 9000 (4th one on the list). There are chairs that look similar to the Aeron chairs but looks can be deceiving. This chair had a somewhat similar look but more importantly, had a similar feel as well. I've been using this chair for nearly years, sitting for an average of 8 hours a day, and the support and quality of the chair hasn't noticeably decreased at all. It cost about half the price of an Aeron chair or even 3 times less depending on the Aeron chair model you compare to.

The mesh seat and back support along with all of the various adjustable pieces of the chair makes is adjustable for each person's needs. The problem with cheaper chairs aside from being made of cheap parts is the lack of sufficient adjustable parts. Herman Miller, the creator of Aeron chairs, has several types of Aeron chairs as well as accessories you can get like the head rest. There are different sizes as well since someone who is small is going to need a different chair than someone who is a lot bigger. This is one reason why Aeron chairs cost so much. This one doesn't look as cool as the Aeron chairs but in terms of quality, as someone who has actually used both chairs for an extensive amount of time, there isn't too big of a difference and at a much lower price, it makes this chair a great value in my opinion.Your best bet is the Alera Elusion at just under $200. I've heard it is a very comparable experience, however I cannot personally say, as I have never spent $800 on a chair. All I know is that the Elusion is an excellent choice.

My Elusion of choice is this one: Alera Elusion Series Mesh High-Back Multifunction ChairBut they've also got a few models to choose from if you want to dig around a bit: Alera Elusion | eBayThe Chadwick Chair by Knoll is the closest I've found to the Aeron, but it's only $100 cheaper. If you're looking for a considerably less expensive office chair that still provides ergonomic benefits, you might like the Alera Elusion Series High-Back Mesh Chair... It's about $225 on Amazon, and has pretty good features.: Alera Elusion Series Mesh High-Back Multifunction ChairFor those who are interested, I wrote a blog post on office chairs that you might find useful if you're searching for a new chair... Link - What Kind of Office Chair Should I Buy?I've had my Aeron for a couple of years now (bought it new for quite a bit more than $400) and I really don't get all the fuss. It's not that adjustable: control the armrest height, how far you can recline, and the tension of the spring that holds you there.

I will suggest here one effective blog site where you will get more comfortable Aeron chair- check out here.Everybody says Alera Elusion, and so do I.I would also consider the Herman Miller Sayl, designed by Yves Behar, which is a cheaper alternative to the Aeron. But it costs much more than the Elusion, I have to add.I think it’s about time Aeron, the King daddy of office chair, passed on its crown to the new contender - Steelcase. After a lot of of testing, my new office chair pick is the Steelcase Gesture (Steelcase Gesture Chair: Wrapped Back - Seagull Accents - Standard Carpet Casters - Platinum Metallic Frame/Base - Connect Graphite Fabric). It has a wider range of adjustments than any other chair. If the Gesture isn't available, I recommend the Steelcase Leap (Steelcase Leap Fabric Chair, Gray). However, If you are prone to perspiring, I think the Aeron is still hard to beat.My pickSteelcase Gesture (Steelcase Gesture Chair: Wrapped Back - Seagull Accents - Standard Carpet Casters - Platinum Metallic Frame/Base - Connect Graphite Fabric)This model has a wider range of more easily accessible adjustments than any other chair, so you feel fully supported in almost any position.

The Gesture is also attractively designed and more compact than any other full-featured task chair; Steelcase offers dozens of finishing options, too. This means it will look better in a wider variety of spaces than its competitors. And in addition to being more comfortable, its highly adjustable arms let you stow the chair almost anywhere since you can lower them and tuck them in as needed to fit under a smaller desk. Steelcase is also renowned for its build quality, and the Gesture is no exception, but should anything go wrong, the company’s chairs are backed by a 12-year warranty.Runner-upSteelcase Leap (Steelcase Leap Fabric Chair, Gray)The previous iteration of our pick is similarly comfortable but bulkier, and it has a more limited range of adjustability. The Leap used to be my favourite, and I still like it a lot. Built with many of the same features as the Gesture, it’s comparably comfortable under many conditions. However, it isn’t quite as adjustable—it lacks the fancy arms—and its design is a bit chunkier overall.

Bypassing the Gesture in favor of saving about $50 with this model is hard to justify, but if the Gesture is unavailable, the Leap is what I’d get. Another point in the Leap’s favor is its adjustable lumbar support, though the Gesture’s adaptive back negates any need for this feature. The Leap has also been around for more than a decade, which makes it easier to find used at a steep discount. For sweaty backsHerman Miller Aeron (Herman Miller Aeron Tilt Limiter Task Chair, Adjustable Vinyl Arms, Graphite Frame / Carbon Classic Pellicle, Size B (Medium))If you want a mesh chair because your office lacks climate control, or if you are prone to perspiring, you might prefer mesh to the Steelcase chairs’ solid foam cushioning. The mesh style was popularized by the iconic Aeron in 1994, and this chair is still the best of its kind. Although Herman Miller has released several model lines above and below the Aeron in price, the Aeron’s continued success and storied reputation make it an easy pick.

The motion ergonomics aren’t as comfortable or as natural feeling as those found on the newer Steelcase designs, nor is the seat cushion as soft or as supportive of multiple positions due to its hard edge, but this chair remains one of the most comfortable options available, and it comes with a 12-year warranty. The Steelcase Gesture is more 2015.* Admitted extreme bias, because I am a Steelcase employee, but it really is the best office chair on the market right now.Reviews still name Aeron as best office chair of 2015 but there is seious competition such as Steelcase Leap, ErgoHuman and another chair made again by Herman Miller that is the ambody chair.I think Aeron is still best office chair in the market. And last month, I bought two Herman Miller ergonomic chairs for my home office according to one of my friend’s recommendation. So, I can also recommend you to buy the Aeron chairs by Herman Miller. Although, there are some serious competition against Herman Miller brand and one of them is Steelcase Leap.
