We explain the major differences between the brands so you can choose the one that is best for you. Although you can find consumer-written reviews at store sites, none of the major professional consumer product rating organizations, such as Consumer Reports®, has done a thorough review of heated mattress pads for about 15 years. Good Housekeeping® magazine did a short review in January 2010. Many people in the United States have never heard of electric heated mattress pads. Of those who know about them, most that we speak with are surprised to learn that only four companies produce almost every electric mattress pad sold in the United States. Each of these producers sells under many brands. The heating technologies and the fabrics between each of the four producers vary considerably but the brands within each separate producer are quite similar.

For example, the person on the left side of the bed can have warming at his or her feet only, while the sleeper on the right can aim heat on the back and head zones and cooler temperatures at foot level. The twin/full size mattress pad has three heat zones as well but, like all choices in these sizes, you can't adjust those independently for each side of the bed.
