View all REI Co-op Air Mattresses 8.5 x 16 inches 79 x 56 x 6 inches (With pump) 6 lbs. 10 oz. REI Co-op Relax Air Bed - Queen Reviews - page 2 The accompanying pump has a DEFLATE port on the handle, which I would like to use.  If I connect one of the hose to the DEFLATE port, how do I connect the other end to the airbed?  I disagree with the answer that REIservice gave.

You cannot attach the pump in the deflate mode in the same way as was used to inflate the mattress because it is a one-way valve on the mattress.  If you unscrew the one-way inflate valve to empty the air from the mattress, then there is no obvious way to attach the pump to deflate the mattress.  I would like see/hear clarification on this. Otherwise, I just lay mattress flat and let the air empty out, then fold it lengthwise in thirds, then roll it up to get the rest of the air out. Something missing on this product is the maximum weight load. Example most queens I have seen thus far put a rather paltry sum of 300lbs on the mattress. The recommended maximum load capacity for the Relax Air Queen Bed is 600 pounds. Does the REI Relax Air Bed have any insulation (R-value)? The Relax Air Bed does not have an R-value or any added insulation. Can this be stored in a hot attic?  What's the max temperature this is safe to store in without damage?

While we don’t have a specific temperature range for storage of the Relax Air Bed, we don’t recommend that you store it in exceptionally warm temperatures, as this could cause the materials to degrade. Has anyone tried this mattress on top of a 4" sleeper sofa mattress?  I'm looking for something to make a sofa bed more comfortable, and I love that this can be deflated and stored, as opposed to a memory foam topper. We have not received any feedback for the REI Relax Air Bed of that kind. It may very well make your sofa bed more comfortable and does deflate for storage quite easily. Often airbeds need more insulation on top than the sleeping bag provides.  Does this need that extra layer?  Or does it insulate like a thermarest? The Relax Air Bed will not have any insulation (R-value) the way a Therm-a-Rest pad would. A sheet or blanket would be recommended over the bed. Does the weight on the specs include the pump? The packaged weight with pump is 6 pounds 12 ounces.

Camping with an air mattress just makes roughing it a little less rough, especially for the casual camper. If GLAMping is your style then a bed is an absolute must. There are a few things to consider when purchasing and setting up your luxury sleeping arrangements. Of course cost and value are important, but also what to do in case of a leak and how much room does your tent have. What accessories do you need? We’ll dive into all that and then I’ll give a few recommendations for the best inflatable beds for camping and some accessories. Available in twin and queen sizes this heavy duty air mattress is very durable and rated for approximately 600lbs this will surely handle all your camping needs. Made of thick material that is sure to protect from uneven ground and rocks. The mattress sits about 18 inches off the ground and is the size of an actual queen or twin mattress, depending on which one you buy.

Although this bed does not include a pump, it does employ a double lock valve that makes it easier to inflate and prevents leaking from the valve Currently on Amazon it is rated 4.3 out of 5 stars with108 reviews, here are a few of the comments that seem to be common among several reviewers.Just to be clear, this is my summary of the reviews that I have read. This bed holds a lot of weight, but does not lose a lot of air over the night The added height of the bed makes sleeping much more comfortable and like you are sleeping in a real bed The customers who did have a problem said that Amazon helped them return it pretty easily. Coleman carries a 30 day warranty with this mattress so once you get it, try it out for a few nights. Of the 18 critical reviews 8 of them said that the beds lost at least enough air to need to be reinflated daily This bed is only available in a queen size, measuring 60 x 22 x 80 inches (W x H x L),  and a 600-Pound capacity. This bed is not only functional it also looks great.

Losing the stigma of cheap quality and looking like a actual piece of furniture. If you’re trying to upgrade your camping game this is a good place to start. Built in is an electric pump that will inflate the mattress in less than 5 minutes. The pump plugs into a standard 120 volt house outlet, however it can be pumped up with a different pump if you are traveling or this one malfunctions. This just keeps things simple. It also comes with a carrying bag that allows it to store nicely and keeps it protected when not in use. Intex has a few different bragging points on this one. First the Fiber-tech beam construction, which keeps the mattress  firm.  It’s also covered with a nice plush flocking that adds a layer of comfort and will hold onto fitted sheets. The rest are all positive. The common points I see in all of them are that the bed loses air rapidly. Intex says that there is an adjustment period where the material stretches and adjusts to body weight. It’s hard to say how many of these reviews have factored that in.

This mattress is available in a queen and twin sizes measuring 78″ x 60″ x 9″ for a queen 75″ x 42″ x 9″ for a twin.  The queen is rated for 500lbs. It also comes with a carrying bag, an external, wireless, rechargeable pump with car charger and standard wall plug. It will refill the mattress about 4 times between charges. It comes partially charged out of the box, but will  require about 6 hours to get a full charge. They also include an extra nozzle adapter in case you want to use the pump to inflate another item. The bed can be inflated in under 3 minutes using this pump. The mattress is made of PVC to ensure durability. Fitted sheets seem to be a bit big for this mattress, but that can be solved by tucking the excess under the mattress. There is a double lock air valve for inflation ease. Soundasleep offers a 1 year limited warranty on this bed and encourages calling customer service for support. at 4.5 stars with 354 reviews. The common critical reviews are the standard losing air over time.

It also had an overwhelming number of comments stating how comfortable the bed is. Available in queen (78″ x 60″ x 15″)  and twin (74″ x 39″ x 17″) sizes  . They offer inner circular coils for support keeping the mattress firm and a flocked top for extra comfort that will also help to keep your sheets in place. The twin is rated for 350 lbs and it includes an external pump.  The pump is a bit noisy, but fills the bed fairly quickly. It also not a portable pump. I would suggest buying another pump if you are planning on camping where electricity is unavailable. There is a 2 year warranty on this mattress as well. It currently has 3 ½ stars with 238 reviews. The most common negative reviews are the standard air leaks that every mattress gets, but it has several that state they have no problems with leaks and they love how comfortable this mattress is. Once again I recommend that you order your mattress before you actually need it and test it out as soon as it arrives.

Available  in queen (60″ (W) x 80″ (L) x 8.5″ (H)) and twin sizes (39″ (W) x 74″ (L) x 8.5″ (H)) It also includes a state-of-the-art rechargeable pump inflates and deflates; Rechargeable pump includes car charger and wall charger. It has a soft flocked top that add an extra layer of coziness as well as holding your sheets in place. Also included is a carry bag. According to ALPS their beds are “constructed of industry leading, extra thick and durable PVC materials helping to make them puncture resistant, along with welded seams for extra durability” The pump must be charged for a full 12 hours before use and it is recommended that the battery is completely emptied before recharging. Although, I can’t see fully emptying the battery while on a camping trip only to wait 12 hours of charging before using again. THe circumstances would need to be near perfect. The reviews do say that the it can be used several times before it needs to be recharged. Also, this charger is the only way inflate this mattress.

If it breaks, you are out of luck. There is a one year warranty for this mattress. The reviews state that the charger is really great with only a few exceptions. Other than that, there is what seems to be the aerage number of complaints about air beds leaking. Get one with several nozzle sizes. This will probably outlive the mattress you buy and you want to be able to use it for future purchases. Also, there will probably be other items you want to blow up. This pump comes with several nozzles It has reverse air flow for deflating your air mattress. This is a luxury that once you have experienced you just can’t do without. THe down fall here is that there is no car charger and it is needs to be plugged in to use. However, it is very highly rated! This pump is powered by 4 D size batteries, making it completely portable. It also comes with 3 size adapters making it almost universal for inflating air mattresses. It also allows for deflation, which is awesome!

This pump is my favorite of the 3 I have listed here. It will inflate and deflate your mattress,  it carries a charge, and can recharge in a wall outlet and has a car adapter. This is my clear recommendation. If the warranty of your mattress has run out and you need to fix a leak here is a very common method the finding and fixing a leak. While the mattress is completely inflated follow these steps This video employs a really simple method for repairing a leak. The first half is about finding a leak, the repair portion starts at the 0:30 mark. With almost evet air mattress that you purchase there caomes with it a new, out of the box, plastic smell. More accuratley, the smell of the chemicals used in the  creation process. As I’ve reccomeended already, order the mattress before you need it, set it up immediatley after recieveing it and look for defects or holes. While it is still set up, you can spray the plastic with a 2 part vinegar to one part water mix and wipe it down.
