Says Hollywood: Toys Are UsAction Girl: Wyldstyle and Princess Uni-kitty at the very end. Adaptation Explanation Extrication: Emmet talking to Lord Business in the finale and convincing him to do a HeelFace Turn is kept in the Junior Novel and Video Game, but the context for whynote  isn't. Interestingly, the video game keeps the Plot Twist from the film, but still . Affectionate Parody: The movie frequently (though not completely) parodies summer blockbuster movies. The fact that Everything's Built with LEGO helps, as even the most spectacular explosions and overloaded action sequences end up becoming sillier as a result. Especially the scene with the real-life kid, which Emmet views as an Attack of the 50-Foot Whatever. Allegory Adventure: The movie notably toys with this trope. The entire plot of the film is presented In-Universe as a metaphor for Finn's playtime in his dad's study, which explains why the ancient "relics" of human artifacts can appear alongside LEGO bricks. However, Emmet, complete with mental voiceover, is able to consciously move himself in this world, albeit with great difficulty.

It's left to the viewer's interpretation whether or not the whole movie took place in Finn's head, or if the world of LEGO is its own universe that Finn and Dad can just manipulate. And the Adventure Continues: "We are fwom the pwanet Duplo, and we are hew to destwoy you!" Arc Words: "See everything" is used repeatedly to refer to the power of the Master Builders to see the potential in the pieces around them. Lord Business's obsession with keeping everything "how it is supposed to be." . "Now it's your turn to be the hero." Finn says that to Emmet during his vision, and Emmet says it to Wyldstyle before his Heroic Sacrifice. The power of the Special is... you're special. Artistic License Chemistry: The mineral spirits The Man Upstairs uses to un-Kragle the Lego universe at the end would almost certainly remove the paint used to give minifigs their faces and clothing details, in the same way Lord Business uses nail polish remover to remove Bad Cop's "Good" face. We can safely assume that, being a Lego connoisseur, he was probably careful with the stuff.

Ascended Meme: In the "Behind the Bricks" featurette, Vitruvius talks about how great it is that he's voiced by Morgan Freeman, noting the famous joke that "that man could read the phone book and make it sound interesting." He then proceeds to do just that.Vitruvius: Five five five, three four nine two. Just listen to that rich molasses. for joining the Redbubble mailing list Thanks for signing up! Hence, The Lego Movie was born. I must admit, when I first heard about the project back in 2012, I was quite skeptical. But after a fantastic trailer, they completely sold me on the movie. It's definitely one of the best animations of the last 10 years, and it's crazy how it didn't even get an Oscar nomination back in 2015!Since that colossal hit, Lego have brought their latest project to the big screens: The LEGO Batman Movie.

Thankfully, this vibrant, exhilarating adventure opened to fantastic reviews from fans and critics alike — which opens up more avenues for the Lego franchise. A stellar teaser for the The Lego Ninjago Movie has already been released, and with the indisputable success of The Lego Batman Movie will surely lead to more Lego movie spin-offs down the line. One of the greatest aspects of The Lego Movie is the absolutely stellar cast. From the silly comedy of Chris Pratt's Emmet to the bad-ass hilarity of Batman, every character is hilarious in their own right. So, here are five such hilarious Lego characters who deserve their own Lego movie spin-off. Liam Neeson's role as Good Cop/Bad Cop was one of the most hilarious surprises of The Lego Movie, showing us a fantastic side to Liam Neeson we'd never seen before. His seamless transitions from good to bad (and back again) provide some of the funniest scenes of the movie. My favorite aspect of Good Cop/Bad Cop is his constant need to just kick any random chair that's near him.

As much as I'd love to see a spin-off with Good Cop/Bad Cop, I think it's quite unlikely. On the plus side, though, I'm sure he'll definitely be in The Lego Movie sequels. There's no denying that Benny was one of the stand-out characters from The Lego Movie. His constant urge to build a spaceship was absolutely hilarious to watch. Charlie Day played this role exceptionally, and I can't imagine anybody else in the world doing this character justice. I'm so down to see a movie starring Benny, whether it be a #prequel with him as an astronaut, or a follow up to The Lego Movie. Now, I know what some of you are thinking: "Isn't there already a Lego Justice League movie?" The answer is yes and no. #Lego and Warner Brothers have quite often made low-budget Lego movies aimed at kids, which they release straight to DVD or streaming service. They've done this with numerous properties, but they aren't canon, as in they're not connected to the theater movies that are getting released (like the #Batman above is not the one we see in The Lego Batman Movie).

So my proposal is that they release a fully fleshed-out movie about the Justice League. I think we can agree The LEGO Batman Movie is better than Batman v Superman, so could the Lego Justice League Movie beat the live-action version too?Captain Metalbeard is another one of the stand-out stars from The Lego Movie, and I'd love to see him get his own stand-alone movie in the future. He was played brilliantly by perfectly cast Nick Offerman (Parks & Recreation, 22 Jump Street). I'd love to see a movie showcasing his ocean travels, and maybe even get a Pirates of The Caribbean crossover? One cameo that I adored in The Lego Movie was when Lando and Han Solo turned up to help the gang. Since seeing this scene, I've yearned to see them get their own spin off. Over the years, Lego has made some fantastic #StarWars games, including games based of the original movies, the prequels and The Force Awakens. I think it's time to move on to the big screen, by making one of the many anthology movies #Disney keeps talking about.
