To let: Frustrated mother Jennie McGregor-Jones, pictured with son Harrison, one, has asked for a home swap away from her Plymouth two-bed flat, which she says comes with noisy neighbours in a terrible neighbourhood Warts and all: This is the full advert posted on Gumtree, which lists all the things wrong with the home and her areaMrs McGregor-Jones admits any new tenant will live close to shops that are too dangerous to visit at night, as well as constant police patrols, stone-throwing youths, noisy trains and an uncommunicative school.
She adds the council does not always collect the rubbish, giving children something else to play with alongside the rotting mattresses.The advert has been posted in a bid to find a swap for a three-bedroom house with a private drive and front and back garden. It reads: 'Situated in the heart of Barne Barton, a gorgeous rundown 2 bed flat. Each room lovingly decorated but unfortunately mould seems to prevail every month or so.'Amazing views of local incinerator that provides a divine aroma when opening your windows every day.'Double glazing has split on a few windows so a lovely condensation look compliments your viewing pleasure.'Have asked landlord numerous times to fix, just awaiting housing officer to get back to me and that was in March.' The advert continues talking about the 'lovely neighbours', lazy postmen, as well as the local shop and school.It says: 'Lovely neighbours. Some will occasionally buzz you at 1 in the morning to ask if you have a lighter or spare Rizzlas (sic) even though we don't smoke at this property.
Others will drill at 10 o'clock at night or play their music full blast while your children try to sleep.'A sweet little park situated nearby where local youths attempt to throw stones as close as possible to your car and you can hear the extensive vocabulary used containing lots of profanities.'Sometimes they'll just sit outside your bedroom window and serenade you to their rendition of Joe Pasquale I know a song that'll get on your nerves. sic) on the beat patrolling regularly every fifteen minutes who will occasionally pop up for a chat to see if you know anything regarding countless anti social behaviour.'Royal Mail can never be bothered to post your mail one day to the next so your guaranteed to receive any bills you may have late.''City council don't always collect your rubbish so after two weeks leaves a complementing smell with said incinerators aroma. Mrs McGregor-Jones has been shocked at the amount of publicity her advert has received and revealed there has been a bad reaction from some of her neighbours.She said: 'I had been trying for two years and no-one was interested in our flat because of where it was and because of how stereotypical it is of social housing.'I just thought why not put an advert to live up to the stereotype.
Everything I have said in the advert is totally legit and has happened to me at one stage or another.'Initially I found it funny writing the ad, and I hoped people would find it funny reading it.'But I also wanted to highlight that our community has been totally forgotten about by the council.'The community spirit here is amazing, but there is a very small minority that ruins it. I have some lovely neighbours, but because of the actions of a few we have all been tarred with the same brush.'Some of the neighbours have read the advert and didn't like it at all.'There has been a bit of a bad reaction. I am shocked by how many people have seen it and commented.' Support: Jennie's neighbours have admitted she has made a fair point although they did not expect her to make it so public Plea: The married mother says that years of complaints about her home have been ignored until nowAn unnamed neighbour and friend, who is also trying to move away from the flats, said: 'The advert is quite accurate.
This is not the nicest place to live.'It is hard to pin-down the problem and there are some nice people. You get used to the sirens after a while. But you can never open the windows because of the smell.'You can't even put your washing out some days. Some of the children will throw rocks and you when you come past. 'We are trying to move away at the minute. She (Jennifer) showed me the advert but I thought it was a joke.
