The room was extremely comfortable with a lovely big, comfy bed, big TV, lovely big bathroom. Outside is a huge hot tub and deck area... Graham and Kath had taken over the establishment and the service provided by the lovely couple is simply wonderful. Essentially, the Burns Beach Bed & Breakfast is a two-storey bungalow with the lower levels reserved exclusively for guests. “” Kath and Graham run the most comfortable B&B, and are the friendliest hosts I have ever encountered. The room was immaculate and had more facilities than I expected (own bathroom, mini fridge, iron etc.). Oh and the bed was like sleeping in a silky cloud!! Great selection for breakfast. Foxtel, wi-fi, beautiful ensuites, courtyards, decking, spa, common room, close to beach. If we are back in WA this is the place we will be staying. Every detail was thought of, and presented beautifully. The biggest bed I've ever slept in, and extremely comfortable. High quality fixtures and every possible need was provided for. An extensive wildlife, nature, travel and art library is available to guests in the communal lounge and field guides and binoculars can be borrowed for birdwatching walks or tours. Guiding is available for photographers and wildlife seekers and local information with maps, Daintree bird checklist and up-to-date places of interest are offered. Free WiFi is offered with some minor data usage restrictions due to our location. Daintree Birds And Wildlife The extensive gardens of Red Mill House in Daintree are renowned for Daintree birdlife. With a large natural pond and many fruiting and flowering rainforest and exotic trees, the garden creates a haven for many bird species, including Little Kingfisher, Wompoo Fruit-Dove and many more. Be sure to look at Daintree bird sightings for recent sightings and follow our Daintree Birdwatching blog. Reptiles, frogs and butterflies abound in the garden and some mammals such as Spectacled Flying-Fox and Northern Brown Bandicoot are regular visitors.




Daintree is renowned as one of Australia's premium birdwatching locations and we can arrange expert local tour guides, both land based and river tours, for those with a more specialized interest. Guides with an excellent knowledge of the unique flora are also available. We also have guides available to lead photographic tours. Daintree Tours & Cruises Red Mill House is conveniently located for many nature based activities. It is a short distance to the Daintree River cruise boats, both for bird watching and for general interest and crocodile spotting. Daintree Village is only 45 minutes drive from Port Douglas and we can organise snorkelling and diving trips to the Great Barrier Reef from there. The local Kuku Yulangi people of Mossman Gorge can guide you for rainforest walks at the Gorge and provide an insight into traditional culture and use of rainforest plants. The World Heritage listed Daintree National Park is a short distance to the north and Cape Tribulation is only 45 minutes across the ferry.
