View full Product Information Disclaimer Serving Size 1.00 unit(150g)Serving Per Container 4You can check in and pick up your key at your residence hall on Wednesday, August 14 between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. unless noted in the chart below. You must have your CarolinaCard to pick up your key and yes, you will have to get your key. Mom and Dad can’t do that for you! *Check-in at your residence hall if it is not listed above. Most residents will be given a key at check-in to access their room. However, residents of 820 Henderson St. and Patterson Hall will access their room with their CarolinaCard. These students will not have a traditional key for their rooms and will use their student ID and a 4-digit PIN to enter their rooms.

If you live in 820 Henderson St. or Patterson Hall, you’ll receive instructions during check-in about how to access your room. Be sure to review the packing list when deciding what to bring with you. We’ve provided a list of must-haves, optional items, as well as things that are prohibited in the residence halls. To make things easier on you (and your family!), you can ship your belongings to your campus mailbox prior to moving in on August 14. You can find your student box number online at my.sc.edu. Then, when you arrive to campus, simply go to the Student Mail Center to claim your packages. There are 20-minute unloading zones near most residence halls. You must display your parking tag that you received in the mail to use the unloading zones. You can only have one vehicle in the unloading zone so pack your car with this in mind. All other vehicles will be directed to a designated location. Due to parking limitations, UHaul trucks and trailers are not allowed. Volunteers will be available to assist you with parking and unloading your belongings.

We’ll have a limited number of carts available on a first-come, first-served basis, but we encourage you to bring your own hand truck or dolly. Note any damages to your room. You will be charged for any unreported damages at the end of the year. And, trust us, you don’t want that bill! You can wait in the line for an elevator or, better yet, get some exercise and take the stairs! Either way, the time has come to finally move in to your new home. Just remember your puppy can’t stay with you. Only small fish in tanks 20 gallons or less are allowed. Have fun getting to know your roommate, suitemates and other students in your community! Be careful, though not to damage the building or fixtures while you’re at it. DELIVERY IN 3 DAYS? Had I lived a couple of centuries ago, I would have been a town crier. The modern version of that, of course, is the reporter. Couple that with a love of writing and you have my ideal profession—journalism, as it pertains to all media. Professional AccomplishmentsI have received a number of sports broadcasting awards that are especially meaningful because I have been recognized by peers for something I love and do on a part-time basis. Teaching StyleI try to make every class interesting. I feel this generation of students needs to be entertained so I like to mix it up. Sometimes it’s lecture-lite, other times it is video and I especially like group work because this often gets students out of their comfort zones.

A Popular CourseI feel like I was somewhat prophetic when I designed a course for the major called Print, Production and Design. Of course, when it was developed years ago, the intent was that it would give students layout and design experience for newspapers and magazines. That course is still popular but the emphasis now is on technology and electronic means of communication.  Best Part of the JobMy favorite part of the job is the interaction with the students. I especially enjoy being a part of their maturation process as they go from wide-eyed freshmen to seasoned seniors ready for what the real world has to offer. There’s No Place like HomeMy favorite building is van den Eynden Hall. It has been my home away from home. I worked there when I was a student at Mount Union. And, when I returned to work here, it served as the building where my office was located for 25 years. Ironically, when I was named to head the Regula Center, I returned for yet another stint in that building.

When I’m gone from this planet, don’t be surprised if the ghost of Paidas revisits. Mount Union EnvironmentMount Union is different because of the culture that has been created through the years. Many universities differentiate themselves with concrete programs, but Mount Union is different because of the environment—an environment that is both challenging and supportive—and we do it better than anyone else. Prepared StudentsWe have a great mix of broad-based education in the classroom and opportunities outside of the classroom, such as internships and study abroad. In addition to having an excellent career services office for placement of our students in the workplace, we have faculty members who are engaged in their disciplines and professions helping students make contacts and networking for future employment. Research Interests Public relations ethics, the intersection of media and public relations, the evolution of sports journalism. EducationB.A., English and Education, Mount Union CollegeM.S.J., Journalism, Northwestern University

If You Could Teach Another Class Greek culture—I am of Greek descent and speak the language. It would be fun to export my cultural upbringing to others. Words from a Student I am always amazed when a graduate comes back and tells me that something I said influenced his or her life. Most of the time I don’t remember having said what the student has remembered, but it is gratifying knowing that I have had an impact. Favorite Quote or Motto There is a great Greek saying that literally translated is “Bean by bean, the bag gets full.” This is appropriate on numerous fronts. Surprising Fact About Yourself I think people would be surprised to learn that I am deeply religious. I don’t wear it on my sleeve like many do, but God and prayer are very important to me.

If You Weren’t a Professor I would devote full-time to what I already do part time—sports broadcasting and/or sports writing. Places to Visit or Things to Do I want to run the Boston Marathon, but I have to qualify. I have run eight other marathons including the original course in Athens, Greece, but speed isn’t my thing so qualifying for Boston is a difficult challenge that I am still trying to accomplish. It was popular at the right time in my life and has so many interesting messages—both obvious and subtle. I can’t believe I am saying this, but Moby Dick by Herman Melville. I hated reading it in high school, but after reading some other works in college by Melville and enjoying them, I gave the white whale another shot and enjoyed it the second time through. I was too young to appreciate the book when I originally read it. I am a sports junkie—I have done more than 1,000 broadcasts of sporting events on radio and television. And I am a late-blooming distance runner who has run more than 100 races of different lengths in the past six years.
