Redfin Listing Specialist Reviews Filter Filter Employee Reviews Popular Rating Date Great work/life balance with complete freedom of schedule (in 12 reviews) Flexible schedule and paid vacation - if you've never been an agent elsewhere, this might make you laugh (in 14 reviews) The only real con is that a happy work/life balance can be hard to achieve (in 28 reviews) Contractor status of associate agents (in 16 reviews) Aug 31, 2016 Helpful (4) Pros You control your schedule, bonuses paid on client reviews, reimbursed for mileage, MLS dues, license fees, continuing education classes, NO broker fees, NO desk fees, given computer & printer, MEDICAL and DENTAL coverage, 401K, professional HD photography and 3-D tours for ALL listings, sales & IT support. Cons Can get very busy during peak times. This is not a job for agents who do not dedicate themselves to excellent client service. Advice to Management It would be great to have less meetings for managers so they are more available when challenging situations arise.

Jan 16, 2017 Helpful (16) I worked at Redfin full-time (More than a year) Pros Health insurance, 401k, great website. Cons Compensation: If you are a good broker with even the slightest bit of intellect and experience you will be unhappy. Culture: cultish tech start up vibe abounds complete with nonsensical acronyms galore, bean bag chairs, ping pong tables. It's a con for a broker because we pay for all the toys, food, perks as Redfin's sole revenue source - but we never use them. You will be scrutinized, weighed, measured in every possible way. You are not a person. You are data - metrics. Even the transaction - which can be emotional and unpredictable will affect your compensation via the dreaded 'survey'. I had great surveys. But still found it stressful, unfair and demeaning. They don't have your back. Why work for them? They tell you in training - in fact they drum it in, that it's important. But they create an atmosphere of competition and quite contradictory to their claims. You will see (quickly) they really don't care if you have a life.

Management is full of clickish, passive aggressive, immature people and the only conclusion I can come to as to how they have their jobs is that it is such a young company and low standards. I have a diverse work history and have taken something good from each - but not this. It was the worst professional experience of my life. Advice to Management Realize you are not a real estate company. You are a tech company that employs real estate brokers. If you don't care about them - they won't care about you. If you want success - I suggest recognizing your sole revenue source appropriately. Dec 4, 2013 Helpful (5) I have been working at Redfin full-time (More than a year) Pros Excellent work environment and support. Terrific leadership on the local level and at the top of the company. As an employee you are appreciated and your hard work does not go unnoticed. The team spirit is alive and it shows. Amazing growth opportunities for all employees. Cons None can be found here!
