Chloe Bridgewater sent the handwritten note addressed to “Google Boss” to let him know about her computer skills and that she’d like to work at the company - becaues it provides bean bag chairs and go-karts for its employees. However, her whole family were left stunned when ‘Google Boss’ himself - CEO Sundar Pichai - sent a personal reply telling her to follow her dreams and saying he “looked forward to receiving her application”.
The youngster - who now lives in her mum’s home town of Hereford - jumped up and down with excitement at receiving the reply, but was even more excited when she heard it was from the boss himself. Her dad, sales manager Andy Bridgewater shared his joy at receiving the letter on business networking site LinkedIn - in a post that has now gone viral, racking up thousands of likes and shares. He told the ECHO: “We didn’t really expect a response at all, maybe something from their PR or marketing team, but I can’t believe someone so busy and so important would be as nice as to take time out of his day for a seven-year-old girl. “When it arrived she was out, and I saw that it said Google on it so I really wanted to open it but I waited for her to get back. “I don’t think she really understood just how amazing it that he’d written back personally but she jumped up and down and screamed when she got the letter back.” Chloe, who is also an LFC fan, penned the adorable letter herself.
It reads: “Dear Google Boss. My name is Chloe and when I am bigger I would like a job with Google. “I also want to work in a chocolate factory and do swimming in the olympics. I go swimming on on Saturday and a Tuesday. My Dad said I can sit on bean bags and go down slides and ride go-karts in a job in Google. “I like computers too and have a tablet I play games on.” Sundar Pichai’s reply - which he hand signed - reads: “Dear Chloe, Thank you so much for your letter. I’m glad that you like computers and robots, and I hpoe that you will continue to learn about technology. I think if you keep working hard and following your dreams, you can accomplish everything you set your mind to - from working at Google to swimming in the Olympics. I look forward to receiving your job application when you’re finished with school. All the best to you and your family.” While her parents Andy and Julie are proud of their daughter’s achievements - they’ve not made plans for her career just yet.
